It's my fault. Redemption time. Thanks, saint John!

saint John wrote:Pure bullshit, FYRE. What a rambling clusterfuck of nonsense. Any chance they might have had is probably now gone. If they were trying to get into the "We have gay fans" HOF, this letter WOULD have been relevant. You continue to turn everything into some deep, life altering experience that it's not. Journey belongs in the HOF because they had master musicians, one of the all-time great frontmen, chemistry second to none and the world's greatest fans (except for you). Shit, the Perry-Schon chemistry ALONE should merit HOF induction.
I gave some thought to my pal saint John’s comments. He’s right (there ya go Dave – I’m finally admitting that I’m wrong).
It’s all my fault that JOURNEY’s not in the RnR HOF. It’s clear that my letter – and my letter alone squashed any chances JOURNEY had of induction. God. What was I THINKING? Clearly I was on drugs OR am in dire need of some.
Anyway, I decided to try and make things right. I sat down and edited my letter accordingly.
Dear Rock And Roll Hall of Fame:
This is my redemption. I’ve made a terrible, terrible mistake. It’s certain that you recall my letter – my rambling, clusterfuck of nonsense letter – that I sent asking you to consider JOURNEY for induction. A good friend recently pointed out that my letter is the reason why you’ve black-listed JOURNEY. Upon consideration I must agree with him. I now see that my bullshit letter is gay and that it echoes the thoughts of gay fans - not that there’s anything wrong with them. While I don’t claim to speak for the gay community nor the gay fans of JOURNEY I can understand why you would find my letter revolting. After all, it’s not the “We have gay fans HOF”. It’s a macho, kick-ass, RnR HOF with the unwritten code: “NO GAYS ALLOWED”.
Now that I’ve come to my senses and found my manhood I’d like to clarify my letter.
What I said:
It’s with a burning passion that I’m writing this appeal to induct into your halls a Rock nnd Roll band of a lifetime: JOURNEY.
What I should’ve said:
It’s with a good amount of wood and a blue-balled sac that I’m writing this demand to put JOURNEY into their rightful fucking place.
What I said:
Rock and Roll music is perhaps the eminent vehicle for human expression. It encompasses the entire spectrum of human experience from rebellion, angst and politics to love, peace and happiness. When it comes to love, peace and happiness, JOURNEY has been graciously serving Rock and Roll fans since 1973.
What I should’ve said:
Rock music is the shit. JOURNEY is the shit of the shit. They’re the shittiest shit. No other band can touch their shit. Shit – fans have rocked to their shit since 1973.
What I said:
JOURNEY is an expression of virtue – a voice of hope. This was evident in the beginning when they proclaimed on their first album, “We’ve been waiting so very long to play some music and have some fun - bring some happiness to everyone.” The JOURNEY vision was as clear then as it is today.
What I should’ve said:
Since their first album JOURNEY’s had their shit together. It’s now a fucking mountainous pile.
What I said:
JOURNEY carries a message of love. Of course, love is the greatest of human experiences and JOURNEY's message is accessible to all regardless of age, sex or color. Love is an endless experience and JOURNEY has captured the bitter and the sweet of it. While traveling up and down the roller coaster of love, JOURNEY’s music has taken fans to higher places and been the harness that’s safely held them during the bitter times.
What I should’ve said:
JOURNEY is about fucking. Nothing’s better than fucking. Young and old know what I’m talking about. Everybody loves to fuck and JOURNEY’s songs make for awesome fucking. I’ve even fucked on a roller coaster to them!
What I said:
JOURNEY's message has given generations of Rock and Roll fans a reason to feel alive. Not only is this a contribution to Rock and Roll music by making it a more diverse and rounded art form; it’s a most important service to humanity. Like no other band, JOURNEY fills the need for love, peace and happiness.
What I should’ve said:
I can’t speak for others but JOURNEY gives me wood. This brings me back to my point – sorry to have digressted. No other band gives me as much wood and primes me for fucking like JOURNEY does.
What I said.
I invite you to please consider for induction this Rock and Roll band of a lifetime.
What I should’ve said:
Stop fucking around and let them in!
What I said:
Sincerely,
John W. Lute
JOURNEY fan since 1978
What I should’ve said:
John
Fucking to JOURNEY since 1978
