Name Dropper!
Category: Music
I guess I keep dropping names like an insecure kind of weirdo, but damn I have more to say.
It's been a strange couple of days. On Sunday, John Bonjovi came and hung out at the studio for a little while. I've never formally met him until then. He is a really sweet guy. I like him a lot. He and I could have talked for hours, but I guess we'll do that another day. His grand parents use to live in Erie, PA, my home town.
Yesterday I came in to the studio to work on a string quartet, french horn thing for one of my favorite tracks called Always Midnight. As I walked in to see a bunch of beautiful young musicians, Steve Perry(Journey) was sitting in the control room with Pat Leonard.
They've worked together in the past and it was a real honor for me to meet him. I've been a fan of his for many years and he is a lovely person. We had a great talk about lots of things and plan on getting together again before I leave LA.
So, as you see I am a name dropping little bitch. Who cares. It was awesome for me and I loved it.
Couple other things. I spoke too soon about my website. I plan to use patmonahan.net while I get the other site up and will continue to have excusive stuff on .net as well. I plan to get some video stuff up before too long. There's been so much to look at. It may just take me a minute after we finish. I'd like to get some music up but I have to wait on that for a minute.
Question. I'm seriously considering calling thic CD Oprah's Favorite Record.
It's funny and it could be incredibly useful. What do you think? Seriously?
Okay, talk to you later.
Pat"

All I can say is this:
Yes, we all KNOW the "5th Circle of Hell" Touring Schedule he went through....
....he DOES NOT HAVE TO DO THAT ANYMORE!!
If he still has the "bug" to record, please...
.that's the ONE THING I want him to understand about his audience NOW, in 2007....

Remember Train? They are more prominent than Journey is!
You need to let this go Nora. Your ecstacy of Perry is downright embarrassing. For fucks sake already.

Yeah, Train is more active than Perry will EVER be. WHAT is his deal?
Jeez, what a dissapointment.
If I here another:
"I think about it all the time"
"I really would like to do something"
"There's not a day that goes by..."
GOD PERRY! QUIT BEING A PUSS AND PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS.
Tired of your whiny bullsh*t.
Either start singing, or shut the F up!
And yeah, I know what my avatar is, but Jesus (supposedly) is coming back after 2000 years, I guess Perry's on the same timetable... (somebody else said that in another post, I'm just reusing it)

Damn, JBJ and SP at the same studio!
Hmmmm, Pat Leonard has worked alot with Bon Jovi, produced their "One Hundred Million Fans Can't Be Wrong", and "This Left Feels Right" - my opinion, their worst project to date. LOL, even JBJ mentioned on Larry King probably not their best idea, he said the fan's consenses was 'don't mess with our songs'.

Small musical world.........

Hey Deb, guess what?! I drank from the same exact drinking fountain as SP! WOOHOO!
PATHETIC. All you loons need new guys to gush over.
The sad thing is, I am more relevant than Perry is. it is fact. I have more of an impact today, than Steve Perry.
That's embarrassing.

How is Perry relevant today?
Besides you Loons masturbating to him in a fictitional bathtub, he isn't.
I am more relevant than he is.

Someone needs to lead Steve Perry to the Wizard of Oz. The Lion needed courage, the Scarecrow needed a brain, the Tin man needed a brain and Steve Perry needs balls.

Cool! I shop at a Target that was built right next to an arena where Steve used to perform in the 80s.
Hurray!

Everytime I go there I think "WOW I buy tampons 100 feet from where Steve once sang Stone In Love!"
But that water fountain thing is impressive - Deano, you're looking at it the wrong way though. It's STEVE who once drank from the same fountain as YOU. I want his autograph.
Yeah, might could be time to gush over something else for awhile.

I am calling you fuckin Loons out. All of you dumb bitches.
You know, it started out as a joke, but now I think about it, I am more relevant than SP.
Tell me I am wrong.

To this board yes. You and I know that. But overall, I think anyone on this board would give their last dingleberry to hear SP do SOMETHING. I don't know if I'd give my last dingleberry to hear you sing bro. I might.
Seriously. I'm in possession of some great Journey Karaoke files that are begging to be sung to. You game? I tried it, I sound like someone was killing a cat.

No. that is not a reason.
Perry is the greatest singer ever. my point is this. He should announce, officially, that he is done. retire. The Loons hang on to false hope.
Seriously, I am more of an effect on Journey than Steve perry. i know it sounds goofy, but it has merit.

In all seriousness Dean, I'd love to hear him sing again, but I'm just fine if he doesn't. I have his past catalogue to enjoy and some new Journey to look forward to. No false hope here, it's HIS life.

That's true. I think it's very clear that he ain't doing squat. Great, fine, that's his choice.
But at some point it's becomes downright embarrassing to squeak and gush and freak out all the live long day every time the man so much as looks at the front door of a recording studio. Maybe he was just hanging out with a friend, and nothing more?
And btw - that is the worst picture of him EVER. I think I just dried up permanently.

Hi everyone! I'm new here, but I've been lurking for a while and thought I would throw in my two cents on this. Although I miss hearing Perry on Journey's newer music, the fact that he is not with the band any longer is not that big of a deal for me. A lead singer is not the core of a successful band (I say that even though I can't listen to Paul Rodgers butcher a Queen song, but that's another topic), but I can understand how some might have a hard time with Perry's abscence. I was a Jeff Soto fan back in high school, and I recently 'rediscovered' him and am soooo pleased that he's with Journey now. When watching and listening to him sing Journey's songs, or any songs for that matter, you really feel how much he loves what he does for a living. Jeff sings with conviction, and I'm glad that Journey is on to bigger and better things creatively. No sense in pining away for 'what might've been'.
