New Song - Update/Correction

PostPosted: Sat May 05, 2007 6:12 pm

Hi folks,
I just want to clarify something that I have changed on the frontpage - the little tidbit behind the new song Wings Of Freedom.

I wrong interpretted Jeff's words - the song wasn't written about the recent tragic events in VA, but rather is about the history of Virginia State, written for the events that formed the State.

Sorry for leading anyone astray, but now this has been clarifed, my job is done. Can't wait to hear it.

I guess a lot of us thought it was about V-Tech...The VA tragedy was/is still fresh and it led us automatically to connect the song to that.

Thanks for clearing it up,Andrew. You think we will have a soundbite up after May 12?That would be a great treat! :D

I hope the song is just as I imagine it - a great anthem-like rocker, maybe in the vein of Out Of Harms Way or Faith In The Heartland!

Can't wait to hear it!

I forgot to ask...Isn't it "Winds Of Freedom"?...Or did I misread? :?

edit

Jeff said it in another thread...

Actually, it's about America's freedom, their ability to escape the UK(thank fucking God), find a better place to live, and a little town that happens to be in Virginia, thus the concert there.

Good thing it's not about Tech. Time and place, ya know? And now's not it.

Paying homage to the commonwealth itSELF is damn cool.

It's homage to America, not Virginia! In 1606, King James I sent some Euros over here and they settled in Jamestown in 1607. So I guess you could say it is a celebration of Jamestown, maybe Virginia, but I would say it's about the United States, but the math is off for a 400th celebration. O well, Dick Cheney is hosting the Queen. Hope he doesn't shoot her.

Especially Fox News  They just make up shit as they go along. Remember that dickhead Geraldo in Afghanistan? He had soldiers(US) shoot at the ground around his feet to make it look like he was under fire. That channel amuses me. If not for the long legged beauties on there, there would be no need for it period.

I did as well. I have Street Sense winning, however, he is a closer and the track is playing to speed. I like Stormello at 45-1 with Desormeaux, but he will get fried up at front. You can't win the Derby in the lead. Need a come from behind horse sitting just off the pace.

"A dear friend works at British Embassy and told me that the Royals are attending the polo match only and not Jamestown, but she would not tell me who. I heard Prince Charles & Camilla confirmed it in NY last week at a private reception."

I read this on "Comments" from people who bought tickets to the event.
