Nah, I'm over it.

We have Perry's spectacular work restoring Houston to its glory forever on DVD. I'll live w/ that.

I actually played softball against Journey and there road crew, It was sponsorsed by WRIF here in Detroit in the 80's It was during the Departure tour. Steve Perry was the play by play announcer. You have to remember Neal really did not play ball since he has been a muscian all his life.

GREAT question. I remember seeing footage of those '70's sitcom vs. sitcom softball games. High socks and short shorts galore.

I saw Journey play softball against one of our local radio stations (KOME) back in 1983.
They played at a minor league baseball stadium, however the only Journey band member to play was Ross. He played 2nd base and Herbie pitched.

Steve Smith showed up near the end of the game to sign autographs but he didn't play. Perry and Schon were said to be under the weather and Cain was tending to his wife who was injured (can't recall the details).

One vivid memory from that day was watching the Journey crew arrive in their bus. One by one they exited the tour bus (mostly road crew and what not, so they weren't recognizable to the crowd). Then Eric Martin (later from Mr. Big) who was being managed by Herbie Herbert at the time, stepped off the bus. He had hair very similar to Perry's and when he became visable to the crowd, he purposely kept his head down. The crowd went nuts (girls screaming, etc.), because everyone thought it was Steve P., and then Eric Martin (fully realizing what was happening), popped his head up with a huge smile on his face and the masses all simultaneously groaned in disappointment.
