I'm not meaning to rain on any "Mom's" parades here, but I HATE the idea of ONE day a year for celebrating things, because some card companiy(ies) made these "holiday's" up. I salute Mothers, Fathers, And all things that people buy cards for, but celebrate this stuff everyday, not just when the card and candy comapnies whnt you to celebrate them. I just don't get into the various things they want us to buy "special gifts" for, to make their profits go higher, for something they made up in the first place.
For the record, it's not mother's day all over the world, several countires have Mothers day on a specific date, not a specific Sunday in May.

By the way, I feel the same way about Valentine's Day - I'd rather get flowers on a random Tuesday or something then when it's expected.
