This song is written in the same vein. I wonder what IT sounds like?

The Winds of Freedom – words and music by lorraine jordan (c)

talk with me a while and i will tell you how the sickness came
they marched into our lands, enforced the language of the crown
and those that would defy were force

they stacked our fiddles high and burned away our very lives
no sound of skirling pipes, we were left without a single right
and those that would defy were forced to die

chorus

so blow the winds of freedom over me
i’m dying on my knees and i just can’t find the will
to fight this never ending war
blow the winds of freedom over me
i’m dying, all my dreams are broken
i can’t find the will to fight any more

talk with me a while and i will tell you how the sickness spread
they mocked our native style and made us cover up our legs
and those that would defy were forced to die

the spirit of the land was crushed between our very hands
they took our way of life. we couldn’t sing or dance amidst the strife
and those that would defy were forced to die

chorus

so blow the winds of freedom over me

talk with me a while and i will tell you how the sickness stayed
they said that we were wild because we followed nature’s ways
and those that would defy were forced to die

they cut away our ties with seasons, fields and riversides
they left us without scope, a chained spirit without hope
of ever free to laugh again

chorus

so blow the winds of freedom over me

thank you so much for sharing your audio.
I have listened to this song a few times and of course its brand new and outside venue but here is my take on it so far:
Classic Neal S., sounds great, needs less snare drum and more sophistication, JSS you look and sound fantastic! the piano is wonderful, very very nice.
*Is anyone else hearing a little Van Halen-isque in there?
Again, thanks for the share.

Even with the poor sound quality, this song managed to give me the chills. Jeff's vocal lines are superb! I'm sure he's glad to be singing his own stuff finally where he can really shine. Let's hope for more great stuff.

lol, nice Lar. This is the Steelers 75th anniversary, so I'm paying tribute by using their throwback logo that they used back in the hayday. It's the least I can do. :P

not to get off topic, but when i was a little kid,, 1971 or something, i couldnt understand why this team was allowed to STEAL so much,, 8) this concept became clear in 1978 when they "accidentally" beat the cowboys.. 8) terrible towel,, HATe that thing,,

No Queen, no President, no Secret Service. In fact, my bag didn't even get checked and Travis was allowed to go out into the parking lot to bring more stuff in.

And get this...I paid $57 for a cheeseburger, 2 pork barbecue sandwiches, 2 bowls of fruit, and 3 drinks (non-alcoholic). 9 bucks for a f*cking hamburger!!! Ridiculous!!!!

There were some highlights, such as the Blackwater Skydiving Unit (I'll post some of those pics tomorrow) and the Urban HIPHOP group was great! All in all it was a great day. My kids got to see Journey for the first time, and they were wowed!!! 8)

Although I'd have to listen to a clear recording to make a valid opinion on the song,I can say that it's a nice tune.
For some reason it reminded me of "Butterfly" (and I don't care what's the general idea about that song,LOL,cuz I love it),and then at one point,I had a little Bad English "feeling"..."Heaven is a 4 Letter Word" came to mind (on a different rhythm, sure) ,because of a certain part of the vocal harmonies...Just what I'm hearing. :)

All in all it's a good song,I am sure the boys will polish it if they would want to put it on the new album.A studio take would be awesome.

Neal's guitar and the piano intro were really great too.

(LOL,Larry....Magic Fingers went a bit sour on the solo, you heard that right. Are you a guitarist? j/k  I know you are.)

Like the melody alot
AS 4 the snare
my pet peeve
but it's probably a miking acoustical problem.
Its damped but lackluster
I like a deeper bass

The vocals are strong & phenominal
piano sort of like a music box

Jeff
Don't break the cardinal rule
You're haircut is so perryesque
I could swear....
Welll I won't go there
& neither should you....
