A friend and I are going to see Jim Peterik's World Stage tonight. The performers include Jim Peterik, Kelly Keagy of Night Ranger, Kip Winger from Winger, Rik Emmett from Triumph, Kevin Chalfant from The Storm, and bluesman Anthony Gomes. Also The Ides Of March and Jim's new band Pride Of Lions will be performing along with a few other artists. All in all I'm pretty excited as all of these artists are pretty good "melodic rockers." Well worth $50, considering I spent $92 to sit in jail!

Nice.
I'm really curious to know how will they all get along on stage. ("Leave the ego's at the door" came into mind  )

This event is pure class. These guys usually are more into each other than themselves. Peterik always puts together a nice bill.

Is this the first time when they will be together in a show or was this done before?
I'm asking cuz,you know, musicians with big names can get along fine off-stage and all,but when in front of a big audience,Mr.Ego can show up among them and do a little dance.

I may be wrong in this case, tho.

I KNEW you'd fuck with me.  YES, Winger is a bit of a poser, but Dean it's a very cool event. A lot of good music. Hearing "Vehicle" live is almost worth the price of admission.

Hey well, I'm a friendly stranger in a black Sedan
Won't you hop inside my car?
I got pictures, got candy, I'm a lovable man
And I can take you to the nearest star

I'm your vehicle, baby
I'll take you anywhere you wanna go
I'm your vehicle, woman
But I'm not sure that you know
That I love ya (love ya)
I need ya (need ya)
I want ya, got to have you, child
Great God in heaven, you know I love you.............

Gotta chime in and add Eric Martin to that list.INCREDIBLY COOL guy!!
I have been able to hang and email with him a number of times and he is ALWAYS really funny and down to earth!!
Hope you have a blast SJ!!

BTW,I saw Winger here in Baltimore back in February, and they kicked MAJOR ASS!!
Kip still sounds great!!
Those guys are really good musicians, even if Kip was a pretty boy back in the day.
Always liked their music and musicianship!!
Morganstein ranks right up there with Smitty as far as drummers are concerned.

I've always wanted to see Pride Of Lions live. I love all three of their albums. How were they?

Great! Get the Belgium DVD, musically it is well worth it. Although Toby is probably not a natural when it comes to performing live, he makes up for it in effort and charm. The Belgium crowd was a bit stiff. Peterik may have been trying too hard, he came off as kind of a ham. I don't think that he plays the extroverted rocker role well.

I'm right here, Moonie. Concert was great. Although Rik Emmett doesn't have all of his range still, he was awesome. Fight the Good Fight, Magic Power and Lay It On The Line were very cool. Not bad for a fuckin' Canadian! Chalfant was good, nothing great. Pride of Lions jammed...actually a bit heavier than I thought. Kip Winger can really bring it. While the albums may have sounded poser, live the songs have edge and his voice is VERY powerful. All of the acts were great. 4 hours of excellent music. I give the show 8 out of 10 stars.

PS I'm at my buddies house and this neanderthal motherfucker still has dial up so I'll probably log back on when I get home.

PSS Kelly Keagy was drunk and/or high. The guy was so obnoxious they cut his mic off when Peterik was thanking people. Keagy actually grabbed a mic and started thanking people like it was HIS event. Priceless!!!!
