I run a website business on the side on top of Verizon and let anyone and evey one take my pictures; not mine personally, but pictures of them and their fires, and so forth for FREE. So we have this huge fire last night the this dickweed took pictures and has posted a site with all the pictures from the fire and is charging $2.00 a picture through an established shopping cart.
He has put something on the internet blocking any right clicking......Not being a dick head myself and wanting the pictures for our fire company's website, is there amyway around get these pictures. I hate stealing, but I have always given this dude and anyone else pitcures of fires that I phototgraph and for that matter sports events for FREE!!!! I have more of my pictures that I shot around Pittsburgh on other folks fire sites and myspaces.com than you can believe. What can I do? Thoughts and suggestions....I have asked him for the pictures and gotten no response....
Here's the site I do for the Borough Fire Company. I also work there......www.PleasantHillsFire.Org
Here is his.....The fire I'm talking about was the one last night in the City of Duquesne PA....

Click "view", then "source" at the top of your browser, then when the source code comes up you can find the direct URL's to the pics you want.

You run your own website business and don't know the answer to this, if you don't know who does?

Finding the URL might of the picture might not work if there's some additional coding wackiness in there....
another option is to position the picture on your screen and do a screen capture...I think the way to do it is to do CTRL-SHIFT-PRINTSCREEN.
That will copy the window to the clipboard, where you can dump it into MS paint or photoshop...

Email the dude, tell him you share pics with him, ask if he'll do the same, tell him you'll give him credit for them and a link to his site.

If you're using IE on Windows, all you have to do is click on the pic, hold, and drag to your desktop.

Well, one of two things you can do. The first is to watermark the picture. It's kind of like embedding your copyright into the picture. The next thing to do is to use some javacode that blocks users from saving the pictures. They may or may not be able to get around that, but it's proven very useful in the past to keep people from stealing pictures.

Oh..hahahaha! Well, if clicking on the picture and dragging it to the desktop doesn't work, you can always press the print screen button on your keyboard, paste the screen in a image editing software, and crop it until you just have the picture you want. Sounds like a lot to do, but it really isn't.

The dragging works, but it asks for me to set up some type of file/folder through the control panel....What do they mean by that? Thanks for all your help by the way!!!!!

Get a free screen shot / screen image program. Google for it. You can take a screen shot and get the entire screen that you are looking at. Then crop it using whatever phot editing software you like.

You can do the same thing with the print screen button.

another helpful hint
hold down the shift key while you right click - that will disable most lock downs unless he has it coded in the header of his page - and most people don't
i can give you the code to protect yours if you need it anytime

Yes, that's true - but... you need to press
CTRL &
PRNT SCR together. I do this all the time.
(it's not Ctrl - Shift - Prnt Scr... at least not on my PCs) Then just paste it into Paint.
If you are using Internet Explorer this should work. For some reason, it doesn't
seem work with Mozilla Firefox.
Two people who have that have told me CTRL + PRNT SCR did not work for them. So, I dunno.

Another thing, try going to picsearch.com, and enter in a query using specifics, maybe domain name or location, and the results will give you the original http source, and another will give you the img source. Easily pirateable from there.
