According to a close confidant of Tom Scholz, Steve Perry was asked to perform
for the " Brad Delp tribute" and final boston concert, replacing Brads vocals along with
Sammy Hagar and others . The reply was Steve is now retired from singing and therefore
had to decline the offer. The concert has since been scrapped, with a watered down
version planned for august 19 . you can read why here :http://bandboston.com/flashsite407.html
would have been pretty neat to hear him do some of those songs !

They need to get Fran and Anthony back and do the tour in Brad's honor.

He didnt say, but the impression was it was not Steve himself. maybe the same
person who keeps refusing Andrews interview request?

He'll sing again. I think he will anyway. Speaking of Anyway. I had never listened to that song until a few days ago after reading something someone on here posted. Said it was from him to his ex Journey bandmates. I liked it. If you don't know what it is, it's on the FTLOSM CD.

That's the whole thing, Rick. He won't sing again. You guys need to understand this. He's done.

He's done singing Journey. Whether or not he's done singing entirely remains to be seen. If he's so 'retired'...why did he do the Guff thing? If he's so retired, why bother writing? humble opinion as always...

Ok, call it what you want. He has had many chances to sing, some coming very very recently. Do the math Waldo. He ain't comin' back. You would have a better chance seeing Noah and his ark roll up on your front lawn seeking a pair of coral snakes to take with him on his next voyage than Steve Perry belting out any tune. Sorry fact, but fact nonethless.

I dont know whether to laugh because of your remarks or to cry because it's the truth.

You would think this fact would be obvious by now. 13 years, no record...
Not that it wouldn't be nice (the standard caveat), but still, every time I do the math on that one, I come up with the same answer, which is a big goose egg.
I'm interested in that coral snake thing though.

My thoughts exactly. It's sad, but all very true.

Hey Dean, ask Andrew to let Manorocks back just for tonight. We're gonna need a punching bag. Any volunteers?

Oh well, everyone stops *working* eventually. If he never sings again, I guess that's his perogative. Of course, I'd prefer to hear that he's able to prove his critics wrong.

including S.P. his reply was in my opening message. hope that clears it up for you.

Thanx, Lady....first thought that came into my mind, too....
For the love of God....if he doesn't want to sing as the lead guy anymore, then fine...
just TELL US.
If he feels more comfortable behind the scenes, but still within the Music Industry, then fine...
just TELL US.
What the hell is so freakin' HARD about that??

I wonder
HOW MUCH MONEY it would take to get Steve P{ to sing again....
The guy refuses to sing with Journey again, so why would you think he'd sing with BOSTON?

I don't think it's ever been about money. The dude left more money on the table for the TBF tour than most singers EVER make.

OK...
Then how the hell does Nuno Bettencourt ~ with his own report of working with SP, recently ~ fit into all this...
...if Mr. Perry is retired?
