how did you know?the ending wasn't fabulous, have to agree.
But the casual fan (none of us) may be scratching their heads saying, hmmmmmmmm, Journey... wonder if they're still around...saint John wrote:How is it that THE most popular cable show of the last 5 or so years ends with JOURNEY? Sad thing is that they will do nothing to capitalize on this. Playing the Perry songs just makes the fact that they're on their second singer since Perry left even more impossible of a task. THAT was another nail in Journey's coffin. It's Perry or bust even moreso now than it was half an hour ago.

Your optimism for the future of this band truly inspires me.

Kind of like when you paraded your dumb ass around the country following the mimer. My guess is that your ass is STILL sore from that.

Let me remind you and everyone else, I kicked his ass. Did I not?

Not really. You got him a fat check and an early retirement. He wanted out anyway. What you DID do was help put an end to one of the most disgraceful episodes in live rock music history.

"This was never more true than in the final sequence. On the surface, it was nothing more momentous than Tony, his wife, Carmela (Edie Falco), Meadow and A.J. meeting for dinner at a cozy family restaurant.
When he arrived, Tony dropped a coin in the jukebox and played the classic Journey power ballad "Don't Stop Believing."
OK,but..."Power ballad"LOL

But the way it ended leaves you to draw your own conclusions. I like that. I know a lot of people are pissed, tho. What does everyone else think?
NealIsGod wrote:Journey hit the lottery. Imagine how many bands would have killed to have one of their songs played at the end of the Final episode of The Sopranos. Almost the entire song played while millions and millions of people were glued to their sets waiting to see if the family got whacked. Lots of tension in that final 4 minutes.
Congrats, Journey! I am sure lots of people will search out that and other Journey songs this week.
Now, let's discuss the ending...
I think Tony got whacked. Since the entire show is based on Tony, it makes sense that when he looked up at the end, he got whacked, hence the unnatural pause and black screen before the credits. Remember the beginning of the show? A flashback to Tony and Bobby in the boat, and Tony said "You never see it coming."

Personally, I watched the final half hour....the only time I've ever really watched that show. I think they left the ending open like that because whacking that fat slob would have permanantly put an end to anything going forward...something they obviously weren't ready to do. Now, they can gauge interest a year or so down the road and see if it's lucrative enough to maybe do a motion picture or something similar. The ending was intense. I wanted to see fat boy's brains all over that diner. The ending sucked. It was a clear indication that the producers and writers are not comfortable with giving up their cash cow quite yet. I wonder if Perry had a hand in getting that song played? Journey moving on with ANY other singer besides Perry just got that much tougher. Clever fucker.
