HAHAH...I'm only the 3'rd poster on this...CLASSIC!! Completely awesome btw.

It could've been 'Anyway You Want It'...(the alternate selection on the jukebox)...

BTW, how many people were yelling at their tv's simultaneously at the very end? I thought my direct Tv went out..

There was a rumor that a Journey song might be played at the nd...didn't know which one though. Hmmm, I wonder how THAT song got on there. My guess would be that Mr. Perry had EVERYTHING to do with that. Connections baby. Connections. Thanks for downgrading an awful ending to just bad Steve!!! Man that song is timeless.

My husband and I were both screaming...he's changing channels like a mad man to see if the Direct TV went out......smart peeps at HBO...leave em wanting more.

That ending...I don't know what to make of it. I was having visions of Michael Corleone going into that bathroom ala Godfather. I thought they were all going to buy the farm and then nothing. i guess that leaves an opening for a future movie maybe. Still sucked, though.

How is it that THE most popular cable show of the last 5 or so years ends with JOURNEY? Sad thing is that they will do nothing to capitalize on this. Playing the Perry songs just makes the fact that they're on their second singer since Perry left even more impossible of a task. THAT was another nail in Journey's coffin. It's Perry or bust even moreso now than it was half an hour ago.

But the casual fan (none of us) may be scratching their heads saying, hmmmmmmmm, Journey... wonder if they're still around...

Your optimism for the future of this band truly inspires me.

Minus Perry, there is no future. On a happier note, I suspect that Greatest Hits will see quite a nice spike this week. Someone keep an eye out on Billboard's catalog chart. Watch that motherfucker bolt up the charts.

With all the great music & artist featured on this show over the years which resulted in numerous CD's, the grand finale ends with one of the classic Journey songs...A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

This will probably go down as one of the most watched final episodes in history...A-W-E-S-O-M-E!

DSB

Kind of like when you paraded your dumb ass around the country following the mimer. My guess is that your ass is STILL sore from that.

Come on people.....every season finale was like that......a less than spectacular end. Not suprised at all! I think that DSB gave it a huge send off. Nice touch!

Not really. You got him a fat check and an early retirement. He wanted out anyway. What you DID do was help put an end to one of the most disgraceful episodes in live rock music history.

OK, off come the gloves.

Dude, I saved this bands ass, and YOU and most people know this....I will only say right now, they better get their shit together or it's over....They must know I care enough to affect them yet again...I am Journey's check....as in checks and balances. Neal knows this....or he better know it.

They get squirrly again, and it's round 2. Try me.

First of all I was laughing my head off because i have told my husband before I can find a Journey connection to anything. So when DSB started playing it was great! Too funny. Then it just ends????? My husband was like yours Gayle. He rewound the DVR to see if it malfunctioned. I suppose they left it open?? At least hearing DSB made the dumb ending less painful. Hee Hee

It's on Yahoo already. :) Nice way to start my morning here...!

"This was never more true than in the final sequence. On the surface, it was nothing more momentous than Tony, his wife, Carmela (Edie Falco), Meadow and A.J. meeting for dinner at a cozy family restaurant.

When he arrived, Tony dropped a coin in the jukebox and played the classic Journey power ballad "Don't Stop Believing."

OK,but..."Power ballad" :?: LOL

The ending was SO bad that DSB will be the ONLY thing people will remember...they can call it power ballad if they want. :)

Yeah, that was my thought too. Power ballad? Wtf?

I think some people actually believe that all Journey songs are power ballads.
They're aren't all "Faithfully", people! There were other songs, for fuck's sake.

I was pissed that I missed the show (no more HBO channel), but now it doesn't sound like I missed much.
If DSB at the end was the highlight, then I'll just throw on any of the 25 CDs that song is on and have my own party. Heh heh.

HAHA My sister is a HUGE Sopranos fan and was waiting with baited breath all season for this ending. I've never watched the show, so I didn't care.

When it was over she called me up FREAKING, saying OMG they played your Journey song!!!

It was kind of funny. She always associates that song with me becuase I blast it in my car all the time.

EDITED TO ADD:

HAHA she just made this her Facebook tagline: Am is sad that every time she hears "Don't Stop Believin'" in Jo's car (which is a LOT), it will make her think of Tony Soprano! 11:15pm

Journey hit the lottery. Imagine how many bands would have killed to have one of their songs played at the end of the Final episode of The Sopranos. Almost the entire song played while millions and millions of people were glued to their sets waiting to see if the family got whacked. Lots of tension in that final 4 minutes.

Congrats, Journey! I am sure lots of people will search out that and other Journey songs this week.
Now, let's discuss the ending...

I think Tony got whacked. Since the entire show is based on Tony, it makes sense that when he looked up at the end, he got whacked, hence the unnatural pause and black screen before the credits. Remember the beginning of the show? A flashback to Tony and Bobby in the boat, and Tony said "You never see it coming."

But the way it ended leaves you to draw your own conclusions. I like that. I know a lot of people are pissed, tho. What does everyone else think?

Personally, I watched the final half hour....the only time I've ever really watched that show. I think they left the ending open like that because whacking that fat slob would have permanantly put an end to anything going forward...something they obviously weren't ready to do. Now, they can gauge interest a year or so down the road and see if it's lucrative enough to maybe do a motion picture or something similar. The ending was intense. I wanted to see fat boy's brains all over that diner. The ending sucked. It was a clear indication that the producers and writers are not comfortable with giving up their cash cow quite yet. I wonder if Perry had a hand in getting that song played? Journey moving on with ANY other singer besides Perry just got that much tougher. Clever fucker.

I am sure David Chase selected that song. Every musical choice on that show has meaning. I think Journey just got incredibly lucky.
