Okay, the sacking of JSS majorly sucks (as did the sacking of Augeri, in my opinion). So if Journey is going to continue, what's next? Maybe it's time to think of some former lead singers of similar (or not) bands who might be available?
1. Joe Lynn Turner (ex-Rainbow/Deep Purple)
Made Rainbow start sounding like Journey/Foreigner as it was. Recently putting out some killer solo albums.
2. Glenn Hughes (ex-Deep Purple)
Probably too much of a rocker, and his recent albums have been pursuing more of a rock/R&B thing, but could be cool.
3. Lou Gramm (ex-Foreigner)
Okay, highly unlikely and not probable. But available.
4. Mickey Thomas (ex-Starship)
Didn't they originally float his name back in 84 when they weren't sure if Perry was coming back?
5. Jimi Jamison (ex-Survivor)
Recently departed from Survivor.
6. Danny Vaughan (ex-Tyketto, Vaughan)
Cool voice and Tyketto’s debut always sounded a little-Journeyish. Probably wouldn’t be considered, because Augeri was Vaughan’s replacement in Tyketto.
7. Sammy Hagar (ex-Montrose, ex-Van Halen)
Hey – he’s available!
8. Brian Howe (ex-Bad Company)
Not sure what he’s currently up to.
Or how about just get Gregg Rollie and Steve Perry back on board for one more time?????

Wouldn't happen. He and Jeff Scott Soto are friends
My choice for the next version of Journey, call it a career

Why fucking bother hiring anyone else?
Napolean-Magic-Fingers and Friga-Fuck
are content to live off the Perry hits, right?
Fuck it! Just et with the guys and gals
at the Disney theme parks, have a life-sized,
animatronic Steve Perry built, stick him
front and center and play to fucking tapes again!!!

Lou Gramm can't even hit the notes in Foreigner's songs, much less Journey's.
Go to Lou's website and watch/listen to the video for Midnight Blue (in his EPK). The key is so low I think it is in negative z-flat!

And don't know about you but I wouldn't wanna see this shit happen to Danny as well, it's bad enough it's happened to Jeff who is a nice guy. Danny is great and deserves better than to be associated with arseholes like these guys!

Only one viable choice as far as I'm concerned and that's the Sunnyview Retirement Home. In the senile dementia unit.

I don't think Jimi has the range anymore, either.
Brian Howe - highly doubtful. He is still touring solo and I question his vocal range as well.

I doubt Sammy could hit the high notes and his voice is very raspy these days...
Most likely out of the list above:
Mickey Thomas
He still has a great vocal range.
I like the singer of Fortune. This guy would kick ass:

Couldn't agree more. From a fan aspect, he'd be great. He's one of the nicest people I've ever met (much like JSS) has paid his dues (much like JSS), and gives everythinghe has for the love of the music and his fans (much like JSS). I know from talking to him how important friendship and family are, he wouldn't think about it.

Exactly. Danny's in the same vein as Jeff in that touring with Journey has gained him a LOT of new fans, so can thank them for that, but I highly doubt he'd even want the job singing for Journey... in fact if I remember correctly he said that he wouldn't even before all this, can't remember his reasons though.

3. Sam The Butchers stunt man( Ray Tortelli)- Brady Bunch era will get the call by 2011
2. Journeys bus driver will replace whitney Houston by late 2009
1. Whitney Houston will get the call by October. Journey will release Whitneys version of Open Arms early this August

Wouldn't be any of these guys, they'd mean moving in a new direction...Journey's "different direction" will be the same direction they've been going in, feeding the greatest hits rehash to the casual fan.

I personally think Joe Lynn Turner would be cool. He probably has too big of an ego to deal with (imagine the three-headed monster of JLT, NS, and JC....ugh). But melodically, his voice would be cool.
