Yeah, I'll take some of that action too...I don't think Kev wants anything to do with Friga and Fro....and I think the feelings are mutual with the two fuckwads.

If he wanted nothing to do with them than why the JRNY cover cd
The guy was auditioning for the band right there,

Jeremey is a better choice. He's younger, has the voice they want and knows the catalog inside and out.

As I said in another thread Froy. Email Kevin & ask him about this. Please. Report back.

Well, we can all speculate as to what Kevin's motivation for that CD was....but I personally do not think it was to grab journey's attention. He's played with F&F before...and they pulled the rug out from under Kevin back in the early 90s....so I don't see them revisiting Kevin.

I think Kevin's motivation was simply as stated...a tribute to journey. nothing more nothing less....pure speculation on my part, but that's my guess.

absolutely...not very original, though. Deano, AR and others here need to be given credit for the 'friga' part....

True, he should have been in there from the start...for TBF.

I doubt the tribute CD has anything to do with this. But who really knows?

What spin will we get from Journey this time? "Well, Neal and JSS had great writing chemistry but when it came time for us all to write and create new music, it just did not feel like Journey to us. Yes, we want a new direction, but it still has to feel like Journey music, and it just wasn't. So, we had an awesome time touring with him. He was a great performer and I think we gave the fans a wonderful experience on the Def Leppard tour. But, when we considered our future, it did not feel right and we had to make a change."

Blah, blah, blah.

I think this pretty much nails it. JC said that he was skeptical from the start. All the rhetoric he eventually spouted about JSS was just fodder for the fans and patronage for the DL tour. Now that they've had some idle time away from the road and some 'classic Journey' publicity, it only makes sense that they'd re-judge their position. I also think that Irving Azoff probably had something to do with this. It's a business, and money is money. More money is better. When they looked at the pros and cons of marketing a new direction with Soto, they probably balked. So now, they nip it in the bud before any new fan expectations grow.

Fans can think it was handled wrong...as wrong as they want, but it doesn't matter. It's Journey's music and Journey is their business. Bottom line - a bunch of internet whiners have no say-so. Journey will go on just as it always has.

See you at the next show. You know we'll all be there...

later~

Oh I see it now. Ur so smart. A guy who has his own fans, has united the fanbase, is great live & can do the job well, is current & might actually bring an old washed up band some relevance again. Why would they want him? That would be such a stupid marketing direction to go in, wouldnt it?

See you at the next show. You know we'll all be there...

Um no. But there will be lots of front row seats available. Um at the county fair & free too. Have fun dude.

How can anyone be so stupid? This is what I want to know?

Are you fucking mad? Any relevance and more money went out the door when they fired JSS. What I really think it is is that Frick and Frack didn't like the attention Jeff was getting. Took the spotlight off of them. They do forget that whomever the put up there next ( if anyone is insane enough to take them up on their offer), they will have the same thing happening once again.

Journey put the fan expectation out there already when they put out the press release about Jeff and the info on making a new cd. So that not so logical idea is shot. Making money on the GH will diminish, and where will Frick and Frack be then?

Frick and Frack have now made Journey a laughingstock. They should gracefully bow out and retire Journey for good.

I'm sure they would Sallee, if Neal didn't have to pay child support for 5 kids. He has to work. Man that's gotta suck to be him. Too bad.

Well, Rick, Frack should either been wearing a condom or got himself cut ! I have no sympathy on that. He can work on other projects, etc. He just needs to get the balls to do something totally different and quit ruining the Journey name.

I'll take that bet, froy. Good guess, but it ain't happenin'.

I was a big Augeri fan, but JSS is fucking electric onstage and was injecting new life into the band. It was real and tangible. How could they not realize this?

If you think about it
There is no other choice
Kevin knows the score
He knows JRNY
No cover band singer is going to get the gig.

Who's to say they'll draw anymore in attendance with a Perry clone than they would've with JSS? Most casual fans don't care who's singing, they're just there for the party. Meanwhile, you can still go somewhere new in the studio...even though they haven't had the balls to stand by new material live.
