i'm beginning to think this is the beginning of the end for journey.

there's an almost certainty perry will not return, then again, you can never say never.

either they can go the route and find someone else that has the tone of perry (again!), but could be versatile enough to go in any direction. or, they could wind up with someone famous from that decade i.e. what queen did with paul rodgers. get someone that was part of a band that was as big as journey in the 80s. mash journey sets with the bands of the lead singer. queen did it, and they're selling very well, plus a new album is in the works.

that would be the only thing i see saving journey from putting it up and quitting. no offense to jeremey or any other possible candidates, but the only thing that i think would work is to add a singer who was/is well known from the 80s. soto was a terrific singer with a lot of experience, but i'm willing to bet the audience as a whole had no idea who he was.

the "queen/paul rodgers" plan could work, yet i doubt anyone with a reputation would want to put that at risk of being shit on by cain/schon.

People seriously need to give up on Perry ruining his reputation (the good part) and re-joining the guys he loathes so much.

Sure they're good enough to make money off of, but from a distance.

God,I can't.As a matter of fact,I've turned to the golden albums to heal my present nausea.Might sound weird,but works for me.

It's like a family situation...Just because you find out your lifetime partner (the band) is an asshole who's cheating on you,you can't dump the kids you've had together( the albums).
I'll leave the sonofabitch,but I keep the kids cuz I love them.You know what I mean.

TodayI've played the Escape CD and it made me smile and feel great.
Didn't hear F&F,or just Perry...It was the brilliance of the songs,that overall magic feeling that everything was fine,that they were happy making music.

Yes,I am still pissed about what happened recently,but my anger diminishes fast...
While it was a painful moment,I believe this whole episode revealed things that we didn't see before.
Actually,the positives can outnumber the negatives,as strage as it may sound.
Since I'm at it...Here's what I mean:



Negatives:

Journey's legacy tarnished (again) and the current band members completely losing their credibility and the fans's support.
A huge chance of revival wasted and no Journey album with JSS (which would have been really good,IMO)
Totally losing the fantastic chance to exploit the exposure they got with DSB in the Sopranos finale.
An upset and hurt fanbase.
No chance of a reunion with SP.



Positives:

Our love for what was.No one can take THAT Journey away from us.
JSS's future.He is the one getting out of this mess spotless.He has all the force,talent and credibility to continue his career.
The other side of the coin regarding the Sopranos thing: DSB being re-introduced to the new generation.The GH album being bought by them,the song being downloaded by them.
Augeri's image slowly getting re-build.
The other side of the coin regarding the fanbase:being aware of the truth.Although it hurts,at least we know what to expect from now on and guard our feelings.
The albums we have.Treasures to keep and listen to.



Enough I guess...
Maybe right now the minuses are disturbing and cast a shadow on the pluses.However,when the dust will settle,the nightmare will fade.
