Im very surprised and totally dissapointed with the attitude of some here.

Jeremey is "one of your own" here... a long time member and poster.... an absolute gent, and a fantastic singer.

I have read some "trash talk" here from people who I thought would have had a little more integrity! ..which is usually along the lines of :

"Yeah Jeremey is a great guy, and great singer, but Journey will just become a joke, employing a "Tribute" singer!"

What a load of toss! .... people, be happy that J has got a chance to audition ..who knows what will happen.... he may get it ..he may not, but for heavens sake, lets show him some support here!!

Jeremey.... give it your best shot man... anyone else here, who had the pipes that you do, would give their right arm to have the chance that you have... dont believe otherwise

Go for it.... Im with you all the way!

He seems like a good guy, he is a good singer and I do wish him well in whatever he does...

...but that doesn't mean I want him to be Journey's new singer. I don't.

Yeah, I am kind of surprised. I am chalking it up to all of our disappointment that they canned Jeff the way they did. I am hoping that when Jeff comes out on top, which he will, that people will give whoever the new singer is a fair chance.

And those of you who held up Neal and Jon as moral compasses, maybe you should look inward.

No offence to Jeremey, but what most of us here wanted was a new direction and some fresh sounding NEW Journey.

Now what we are going to get is the dirty dozen rammed down our throats for the umpteenth time at the local state fair. Sorry, but this is where I get off.

Yeah NIG... dissapointment over JSS is understandable, and is a "given" ... but Jeremey wasnt part of that... he is "Jo public" gettin a shot at the stars..... I would expect a few people to back him up!!!

Maybe not, just being honest. I did wish him well, though...

Would you give them a fair shake if they recorded new material?

well..I will be dissapointed if the dirty dozen is all its about.... I am hoping, eventually, for new material... with the Perry sound, albeit it from our very own JH ..... sounds like a good trade off to me!!!!

Im willing to bet that most here would be blown away, by new Jrny material, sung by Jeremey!!!!!

I would be happy for Jeremey if he were to get the job but I still don't know that I'll ever want to go see them again unless, by some miracle, Perry comes back for a final album and/or tour.

Sorry folks, I'm sorta new to this forum, so I don't "know" Jeremy - but I do wish him luck in his future endeavors.

And, my friend, if you have ANY luck at all, you won't make the cut. I wouldn't wish that kind of pressure or torment on ANYBODY! Just thinking that all those guys standing around you, smiling and praising you - could at any moment kick you to the curb because of one wild hair or another can't be conducive to a healthy and happy career.

Ok, maybe I would wish that on someone - but I doubt they'd really consider Yngwie for the next frontman of Journey.

:D

If this went down ANY other way, I'd be thrilled for Jeremey & going all out for front row seats. I'd love to see Jeremey live. But the rest of the band gives me a bad taste in my mouth for what they've done to their last 2 singers & the way they did it. I couldn't enjoy a show for that reason. This is a very conflicting & difficult position for me & probably many other people here. On the one hand, we all want Jeremey to do well. On the other hand, we all want Journey to fail now. But both things can't happen if Jeremey joins Journey.

I'm not sure I agree...

I'm pissed at Journey for what they did to Augeri.
I'm pissed for how they handled the deal with Jeff.

I'm excited for Jeremy (who I haven't really talked to before) but I'm also really worried for him. Jeremy's voice fits the "Journey sound" better than Jeff's did. It really does and you'd have to be deaf not to hear it. That doesn't take ANYTHING away from Jeff, he just doesn't sound like Perry or Augeri in the least. Jeremy's a lot closer to "that business model" which is what Journey's now looking at.

However, I was beginning to get very excited about the possibilities with Jeff, especially after hearing that one track that he and Schon did that was SO Journey-esque, yet different at the same time. It really made me angry that they did a left turn and burned Jeff instead of sticking to their plan of going in a truly new direction. I could really care less about the direction. I DO care about how Journey seems to put people on the curb like so much trash. I don't care if they changed their mind like some puberty stricken girl who ended up with two dates at the Jr. Prom.

You do NOT screw someone over who is completely loyal to you. That goes for Augeri as well. They should've stood by him and let him get his voice back (yeah, it's another thread, sorry Neil).

Had Jeremy gotten the gig before Augeri , EVERYBODY would be going freakin' nuts. But he got it after Journey ruined 1 singer and horribly screwed over 2 of them. That makes me wish Jeremy nothing but caution and a good contract.

Those who say that "Journey is now nothing more than a tribute band"- wellllllllllllll, it's kind of been that since Mr. Perry has been gone. With Augeri, they did new stuff, a LOT of it I loved. With Jeremy, who knows? They may do the same thing. The one thing I do NOT want to see is them just touring, playing the old songs and doing nothing new at all. THAT would be a tribute band by definition. Going through the motions, as they have been (or is that has-been?).

I'm stoked for Jeremy and good luck to him.
I'm VERY pissed off at Journey and doubt that I will support anything they do at this point.
Not a reflection of Jeremy at all.

Journey and fair shake in the same sentence sound like a oxymoron at this point!

Sure I wish him well, it must be like a dream for him. Who would not want to have a dream come true. I have seen Frontiers once and thought they were great. I do not like the way this all transpired though and if it was me I would be cautious about dealing with these people. Was it not JC that said he thought tribute bands were a joke or whatever. Is this not the same band/mngmt. that would not let Frontiers perform in Orlando but now they want him in the band. Do I want to go and see Journey play the dirty dozen no. I have spent enough money on them. Will they miss it no, the average Joe thinks Steve Perry is still in the band.

I was fortunate to see Frontiers perform and Jeremey has a great voice, no doubt about it. I wish him well in whatever he decides to do, but right now, with the emotions still running high through me due to the way this whole situation with Jeff went down, I can't say that I will ever support Journey again.

I've been a fan of Jeremey's for a long time and also consider him a friend. I won't turn my back on a talent that I admire or a friend that I'm grateful for just because his good fortune turns out to be the result of another admired friend's misfortune. It wasn't planned that way, it just happened to be the case.

I won't abandon JSS or Jeremey.

I will indeed wish Jeremey all the very best with the band, but i'm sorry i just cannot support this band's future endeavours, I really do mean that.

Any future music they produce I will just download for free...yes, screw them over like they have the fans once too often.

Hi Jeremey !!

I don't post here often but here's my two cents worth :

If it's one of your goal in life to sign with Journey and you have the chance to do it , i say GO FOR IT !! cause later on in life that chance of a life time will come and hunt you .

I know right now everything is shaky but when the dust settle down you will be able to see clearer about the choice you need to take.

One major advice i can give you is: keep your friends close and your enemies closer !!!

I wish you luck in your futur and good health for your family .
