Life goes on in Journeyland.....

Postby roknroseville » Sat Jun 16, 2007 6:48 am

When Journey first announced JSS would step in for Steve Augeri I had some big doubts.
I knew he has a great voice & stage presence But i didn't think he had a JOURNEY voice.
The first few early audio / video boots of him , I gave him credit BUT still i thought he didn't have a JOURNEY voice.
Then as the tour went on I could hear the change in his voice He was dead on!!
Sounded like a JOURNEY voice Mixed with own JSS swagger...
I saw JSS n Journey in Marysville CA summer 2006 & was amazed!!
He commanded the stage!! Sounded great & had the crowd in his hands.
So with the news I just wonder why JOURNEY would take 2 steps back?
JSS will survive ! He already has a great solo career & made more fans while in JOURNEY.
As for JOURNEY...??? LIFE GOES ON... Your burning all your bridges........

Look forward to JSS NEXT MOVE.... He's got the best voice in ROCK N ROLL....

Simple - they felt threatened by the way the fans took to Jeff. It must have seemed like the ghost of Perry. They needed to hire another yes man who has to do what they say to have a job.

Exactly if they somehow (sorry but in my eyes doubt it)they had a big hit again and the ball started rolling again... Jeff would be the reason why ..the new shinning star and they would just be his back up band....They were not about to let that happen again!

One would have thought Jeff was perfect for Journey.

He was perfect for Journey and he had more talent in his little toe then Friga and Fro put together...
Yes they were definitely threatened that he would steel Friga anf Fro's thunder...He owned the stage!
Everyone wanted his pic! Besides they are too old for Jeff!

Soto was so energetic and alive on stage! He was a showman, the perfect front man for Journey.

I still don't get it. ?????

After reading many posts and many opinions, I've come to the conclusion that the band made a lot of money on the last 2 tours. They put out 2.5 albums that had very little success. Why write another album that may not have much success, when they can tour and make a butt load on the back catalog? Let's add a singer that sounds like the back catalog and make money touring. Obviously not giving two shits what they did to us, the hard core fans, and to Jeff, the man that saved their asses last summer. Jeff stepping in last July saved them from losing all that tour money. You would think they would have had a bit of allegiance to Jeff for that, but no, you're fired dude. That's the coldest thing I've ever heard of. You can teach anything there is to teach about life, religion and politics, but you can not teach love, character, compassion or common sense.
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.
