Jeremy, A question about vocal technique.

Jeremy,

Hearing you sing in the higher registers I notice a slight change in the tonality of your voice like its further back in your throat. I am wondering if this is natural or something you do to help hit the higher registers. I am sure you have heard me sing a few Journey tunes that I posted up here that are on acid planet but if not then go to the link at the bottom. For me to hit the higher notes I have to wail. For dynamics I back off the mic. It seems to me that you "switch modes" seamlessly. Wondering if you have any tips because the only reason I cant sing Journey type tenor for extended periods is stamina. I am done after like 3 songs. I do smoke and can never breath out both nostrils due to a deviated septim so I guess being able to do it at all is a blessing. Any sugestions ? And yes I know smoking is the 1st... ehehe

Dude, I've been singing rock for 20 years, and I've made some money at it, but you have a tremendous natural gift - you're a much better vocalist than I am. That being said, STOP FUCKING SMOKING! With a gift like that, you need to protect that instrument like the precious commodity it is.
