JSS WAS right for Journey......

I knew it from the first time I heard 'Believe in Me', in '04.....I said, 'That is what Journey should and can sound like'.

And 'As I Do 2 U'....is a definite Journey type ballad.

So I don't get all this, 'JSS didn't fit' stuff. If fric and frac pull this shite, they are lying....he WAS and IS right for Journey.

If anyone can listen to those 2 songs, and then say he isn't right for the lead singer job - you need your head examined.

If they actually kept him, and let him write songs - they would have been relevant again..... :x

Relevant? No. NOT ONE BAND is relevant in the shambles of this industry these days.

Deserving of and more likely to receive a ROR HOF induction? Absolutely. JSS Journey would have absolutely ROCKED.

I would have to agree with you :) When I saw them( Journey) in Manchester this year with JSS singing the atmosphere was electric, and the sound of JSS's was just out this world.
With JSS they would have moved forward, not side ways or backwards or become static, and new stuff would have been great. He has a powerful voice, and is a versatile singer. :)

Amen to that, I saw Journey in Manchester on their second night and I had the best seats in the house. Jeff simply rocked, and when he sang SHML OMG I fucking loved it, the whole performance was awesome.

He's like a tazmanian devil, he just seemed to be everyhwere at once didn't he? :D That kind of energy is contagious and it showed in the response that Journey got. We came out of the Appollo drove back to K-u-H with a grin as wide as a cheshire cats on our faces, that is my partner Shaggy and me..I agree he was awesome, and is, and will continue to be so. :)

Yeah, JSS had 99% of this forum excited about Journey again. Only Perry in his prime could come close to that.

Apparently he WAS the right choice, according to Deano's lastest blog entry...

"In the meantime, I spoke to a buddy who got this new bit of information. Journey management met recently with a major label who were VERY interested in signing them BECAUSE of JSS & all the excitement generated with fans & critcs alike, to their amazement they learn that Jeff was dismissed."

They flushed that all down the shitter and for what? A couple bruised egos? Makes me sick.

Here's hoping that was their last change with a major record label.

Talk about 'poetic justice'...
Wouldn't it be wonderful if this
supposed major label contacted Jeff
and said, "Throw a band together,
whether it be your solo band or a new "supergroup"
of MelodicRock talent and let's see what we can
do with it... Worked for Velvet Revolver, right?"

Obviously they never took a closer listen to songs like Soul Goes On or Coming Home. If those songs don't have that Journey-like sound, then I don't know what does. It's sad when music becomes nothing more than a commodity to a band or an artist. The fans are the ones that loose.
