Okay, so if my theory is correct on Steve Perry rejoining Journey, which is in my opinion the only logical reason for JSS's departure (Still waiting for JSS to chime in on ANY post to confirm or deny any of this, bet he won't), then my next prediction is that Dean C will get nixed in favor of bringing Steve Smith back. Steve Smith has previously stated that he will only do Journey with a Steve Perry Journey. You may take note that he does not have any upcoming shows in the near future, I believe the last one was last night. This means all Perry era musicians are seemingly freed up.

Deen is an amazing drummer, he'd have no shortage of offers with other bands if he stopped playing with Journey.

I think he'd gracefully step aside if Smith wanted to return, since I imagine he was greatly influenced by Smith's drumming when he was starting out.

Obviously this isn't going to happen, but I do think Deen would step aside for a reunion...he'd have plenty of other offers, I'm sure.

Next we'll hear that Azoff has brought Herbie back, too! Anything else?

In terms of Journey's 30 something year existence, Deen has been about as relevant as Robert Fleischman. Actually, MUCH less relevant. This guy, as nice as he's been, is no more important to Journey than one of Neal's guitar picks.

The movie Rockstar that was based off of Ripper's story

Steve Smith is booked in Europe with Steps Ahead for most of July, drum fantasy camp in August, and a west coast tour in November with Vital Information.

I recently went to a Vital Information show and Steve's drumming is miles ahead of what it was when he was in Journey. The band is tight with a new guitar player who puts Neal to shame.

I spoke to him after the show; when I mentioned Journey he said "Wow. I haven't even thought of 'that music' in years."

Are you familiar with his discography? Honestly, have you seen who the man has played with over the years. There is no way that he would put the reputation that he has developed on the line to go back and tour with aclassic rock act.

If there was ever a one-time show reunion (like what Pink Floyd did at Live , possibly. But to truly go back and play with them...100% no way in hell.

If JSS is a victum of bad decision making from Neal and Jon, why would he post the Journey press release on his own site? Why would he not use his own? Why would he not be doing interviews doing his best to get the truth out?

The reason why is simple, he is stepping aside for Perry and is understandably disappointed that he can't see his own legacy through, I would be too. But I am sure he is still friends with the band and on good terms. Otherwise, why the silence, what could he have to lose?

Steve Smith would make more money on a Perry-fronted 40-50 city reunion tour than he would the rest of his life with VI and drum clinics. He does the VI stuff because that's his TRUE love. Not because it's making him rich.

And that's exactly why he would never do it. I've seen him play with VI and he's got the biggest grin on his face while playing. He loves what he's doing now. No need to sell out. He's said it himself...he had an itch to play rock music, and he scrached that itch.
