Who owns Journey?

Who owns Journey? I have read SP comments that he has no legal ties any longer. Is it Neal and Jon, Azoff, Bank of America or some combination. Who makes the ultimate decisions about who's in and who's out?

I am guessing that Sony owns much of the catalog and recording masters, but do they have any control over anything else (and did they ever)?

Herbie has the catalog. Or so he said in that McCarty interview.

Everything else is decided by cow pie bingo. Or the 8-Ball.

As far as being Journey, logic would dictate it's probly something like Schon 45% Cain 35% MAYBE valory 20%. Wouldn't be surprised if it's only Schon/Cain 50/50 through some miracle of crack business sense on Neal's part though.

Use of the pre '97 catalogue seems to be like Schon/Cain/Perry/SonyBMG and then to lesser extents maybe Valory, Smitty, Rolie.

Thanks. Though the magic 8 ball, etc. are strong possibilities given the current state of things with the band, this is a little more what I was looking for.

I'm pretty sure Mr. SP has a hand in anything Journey from Infinity up to today.

we, the fans, own journey. some have decided it's bad & needs to be punished daily. some have decided it's too broken to fix & have thrown it away. some are optimistic that it will heal itself & make them happy again. some will hold on to it no matter how cracked & moldy it gets. many haven't noticed any changes to it since 1983.

Carlos Santana is the majority stockholder of the Band.

Herbie owns several cases of Journey Frontiers CoASTERS from mid 1983.

This gets my vote for post of the day!
It's simple, to the point, sarcastic yet funny, & funny but oh so true.
Thank you for summing it up so well.
I especially love the last of it. That is probably true for 99% of America.

later~
