Okay, so with all this BS going on, I need something new to listen to. I've got Soul Sirkus which I've grown to really like. Funny, I didn't like it for the longest time (?!?!?! I have NO idea why I didn't like it, it's great).

Somebody educate me on what the best Talisman stuff is so I know which one to start off with.

By the way, speaking of new listening, anybody listening to the new McCartney album? Definitely one you have to listen to about 20 times to get. It's a cool record.

Get Talisman 7 first
then get JSS solo work- Essential Ballads and Lost In Translation
then get more Talisman

Recently started collecting the Talisman stuff myself and have to say the Talisman dvd set World's Best Kept Secret is a must. Two concerts plus a retrospective of Talisman's career (great for a new fan) and lots more concert footage! The only Talisman cd I have is Genesis so far, but have 5 Men Live on the way (which is pretty much the 2 concerts on the dvd).

If you don't have any of JSS's solo stuff, I would start there. Lost In The Translation is excellent! LITT and JSS Queen cds seem to have a permanent place in my car stereo lately.

Lost In The Translation is a disc that you'll put in and never take out. It's solid all the way thru and a GREAT cd to add to any collection. Neil actually played on the opening track and it could have very easily been a Journey song. Prism (another Soto solo disc), while having alot of slow tempo songs is genius in itself. All of Talisman's stuff kicks major ass. Great musicians. Would love to see Soto and the boys stay together and come to the states with their tour and give everyone a much needed kick in the ass. Sadly, they are doing a farewell tour, but wish that would change......

Talisman 7 is fantastic. I have some of the other ones, but so far, IMO, that one is the best. After that, you might want to try Genesis and Cats And Dogs.

Call me crazy but......wouldn't this be a better topic for the JSS forum?

I don't think so. If anything it shows the people who are foolish enough to keep following Journey that the true fans of JSS are going to stick with him wherever he goes and with whatever he's involved with past and present. He's gained even more respect from people who knew him before and new respect from those that were introduced to him while he was fronting what turned out to be a joke of a band in Journey. Hopefully F&F will pick up some of the past music he's put out and realize just how bad they fucked up !

I think this is a perfectly legit topic here, unless you're suggesting we erase Jeff here as Journey did on their site....

LITT and Essential Ballads are the first two JSS CDs I bought. LITT totally rocks!

Like others have said, "7" would be a good start for Talisman. That's the only Talisman CD I have so far. I just got the DVD, but haven't watched it yet.

Bottom line. You can't go wrong with anything that he's done whether it's solo, Talisman, Queen....doesn't matter. He's that good !!

Not trying to erase Jeff whatsoever, my question was based on the fact that alot of posters over the past week have stated the suggestion that we abandon this forum and move to Jeff's in order to show our loyalty and such, and since Jeff isn't in Journey anymore and this question has nothing to do w/Journey I just thought it would go better in his own personal forum....was an innocent question is all.

No harm, no foul Bon411. I just think if we post about Soto here AND in his forum, he gets double the exposure which he deserves.

Exactly, and besides that we talk about solo work that the other past and present members of Journey have done on here, so why not Jeff?
