Can anyone answer this?

Do we know if Jeff was ever 'officially' notified by anyone in the band or management he had been terminated, or was that based on what another lead singer told him?

According to Marcel Jacob, he found out through a band member who is under the same management as Journey are. 3rd party, which must have hit hard after all his hard work.

Thanks. That was my understanding, that he STILL has not told officially by anyone, except for the 'official' statement.

Then on Monday gets the word from management, "We are letting you go." So, he found out Monday, they released their bullshit statement Tuesday.

That's from Deano's blog....

I've been struggling keeping up too. :)

And I agree ~ pretty much everything about what's happened is crappy. No one deserves that kind of treatment, least of all Jeff.

So if nobody has fired him, he's still in.
Shame it's not a day job where he can just turn up at the office to work in the morning - and MAKE THEM tell him to his face and give him the reason why.

A lot of words have gone round and round in my head about what to call management/JC and Neal, deceitful, unfeeling, nasty, mean, inconsiderate, cruel...etc etc, but there's one which seems to fit better than the others in my opinion and it's......cowardly.
Oh yeh, and STINKS seems to fit pretty well too.
It stank when it happened and it's now festering because it hasn't been handled properly.

It's time for them to be gentlemen about it and come clean.
Tell the guy to his face and announce the truth to the fan base.
We're all grown ups, we can take it.

how do you figure he's STILL IN? You haven't read ANYTHING that says he's out? Come on, I know you aren't that daft.

If Jeff was still in, in ANY way, he'd be the first to come here and tell us all to STFU!

Exactly it's just not cricket! It's time to be up front, and honest about both singers really( JSS & SA) in all fairness.

Susie simply means until your management or someone with official authority terminates you, your not terminated. Your not terminated because of something someone writes, or because a band member from another band tells you so. She is making a statement about the way this has been handled.

According to what Deano posted, he was informed by management on the Monday before they released the statement.

no, that's the way things are done in the U.S. anymore.

I once worked for a company where the CEO was the biggest pussy in the world, when it came to getting rid of people (actually two companies). The first would never fire anyone, he'd send someone else in to fire people, someone who had very little actual authority, but was given the go ahead to fire people, because the boss didnt' want to be the bad guy. The second, fired people over the phone, after they'd gone home for the day, instead of having the balls to fire someone or talk to them face to face.

Exactly.
'not cricket' is exactly it.
Even Phil Collins sends a fax when he terminates a contract.
I thought this whole thing stank to high Heaven when it all broke, but I really thought SOMEBODY from Journey Ltd had actually told him he was out by now.
Now find that they havent actually told him I am just totally gobsmacked and I was astounded before.

Aah, ok.
Thanks.
The details are so hard to keep up with. So many posts with little nuggets on info in them.
I guess thats a TINY bit better, now he has been officially told. Its just that he has yet to be told WHY. Got it now. Thanks.

Its all getting confusing - and thanks "Whocares", no I'm not 'daft' but I am bloody non-plussed about it all.

This a fact and not mere speculation by Dean...
I got an email from Jeff on the morning of the 13th
pretty much stating the same thing...
Jeff knows that he has to be 'respectful' when discussing this
situation and I'm sure you won't get much dirty laundry from him
because that's just the type of guy he is; Pure Class.

I think, by now, Jeff may have an idea of the "Why" portion
but, again, he's too classy to air this band's dirty laundry.
Sadly, I get a feeling that part of it may of had something to do
with how friendly and 'accessible' Jeff made himself to his
fans in these forums
... That's probably not the ONLY reason
but I get the feeling that it may have played a part.

We all have heard from Dean how Jeff was asked to stop
posting in here for awhile and we know that he did go on hiatus.
But apparently there was a little more to it.

Hopefully we'll get some kind of truthful explaination someday
but I wouldn't hold my breath. this band isn't gonna tell because
they probably don't want to embarass themselves.
And Jeff won't tell because, again, he's pure class.

I get that same feeling, and if that is the case, it's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of. His involvement with the fans can only, and I restate ONLY mean more dollars in the pockets of the band.

Hey Carlitto. I'm still looking for an answer to who this yippers is that posted on the blog yesterday. Any idea? That was an odd post, don't ya think? Could be anybody, sure. But it almost seemed like perhaps someone on the other 'team' trying to get a shot in without saying too much. Deano I thought would jump all over it. Nothing.

It's not like the guy divulged any band secrets or anything like that. The only real inside stuff we got was that they were working on such-and-such a song for a particular show or something like that.

I, too, got separate confirmation from someone else close to the situation (though not Jeff directly) - but I just wanted to put out there that Deano has gone on record about the whole thing, and that's a good spot to read about it.

Jeff is as good a person as you'll find ~ I doubt very seriously that he'll ever totally bash anyone in particular about this whole episode. However, all the fans, of the wreck that is Journey, are doing more than enough bashing for everyone. I've loved Journey since I was a kid, but I was never a die hard fan, as so many here are. I have been, however, a die hard JSS fan for a few years now and it is great to see how much support he is receiving from those that have been Journey fans of the "die hard" category.

Agree with you 100% Rick. Being fan friendly makes it all worthwhile to the fans. They could have a stinker of a song released, but as long as there is some type of fan friendly accessibility, you are going to have their support.

The only time I could see this being an issue is if, in fact, the band thought that perhaps too much information, was being revealed to the fans.

(AND NO, I don't mean anyone here.....so please don't go there).

~Peace to all~

Jeff has always been accessible to his fans, and I agree it is great when people in his position are like that.
To me, that is someone who shows you their appreciation, not just by taking your money on the ticket sales, but in the fact that he realises we are all human and takes the time to converse, and have pictures taken etc.
That can only be good, I do not see how that could be a negative for anyone, how can ocngeniality be? :)
