Aiming at a Positive and Constructive Reading Suggestion

So many on this board have gotten so collectively depressed and dark that I'd like to offer something positive and constructive.

I offer the following reading suggestion to everyone on the board, including Jeff, Jeremey, and Journey band and Journey management (lots of "J"s there!), and Andrew:

Firing Back: How Great Leaders Rebound After Career Disasters (Harvard Business School Press, 2007)

The book has significant portions dedicated especially to "creative figures such as ... artists" but also has a lot of value for ANYONE who's encountered or may someday encounter a reversal, challenge, or simply make a bad decision here and there.

I think there's also a website associated with the book: http://www.firingbackbook.com

If you're averse to "business" books, then maybe this other one will work from a different angle but associated message:

The Hero With a Thousand Faces (Princeton, 1972)

That book focuses on lessons of heroic figures in literature, including how they transcend all sorts of challenges, obstacles, and catastrophes.

Watching the sausage getting made or being part of the process can be ugly, so we should all have as many tools in our arsenal to process it all without feeling unduly defeated or discouraged.

That's all for now. I hope some of you out there get something of value from this post.
