What Jeff Should Do Immediately

Postby The_Noble_Cause » Sun Jun 24, 2007 5:39 pm

Before Jeff put his promising career on hold to become Journey’s used/abused, all-holes-filled bitch,
Frontiers Records released a press release stating that Jeff and Lukather were teaming up.
Now, for my money, Steve Lukather isn’t fit to carry Neal Schon’s sock-stuffed jock strap;
however, with Jeff now at home, I’m sure he’d like something a little more productive to do than re-stocking on Afro-Sheen Hair Straightener and whiling his time bandana shopping at Bloomingdales.
Its win-win.
Jeff gets to team up with one of the best guitarists in the business and Steve gets to atone for his last auditory crime against humanity, chiefly, “Falling in Between”.
Andrew, I don’t know what kind of incriminating man-on-marsupial photographic evidence Toto has on you, but that album sucked a cock as big as Mt. Kilimanjaro in 99 different cruel and unusual ways.
On second thought, Steve Lukather sucks.
Don’t waste your time, Jeff.

What Jeff should do is hook up with LUKE!

Postby NsideOut » Sun Jun 24, 2007 5:47 pm

No disrespect to you...but JSS hooking up with Lukather would be AWESOME. I've heard the man sing a Toto cover before and he nailed it AWESOME! That said, Luke is an AMAZING guitarist and still has years to offer. Combined with Jeff's incredible vocals... I personally think they would leave Neil Schon green with envy and reeling with regret.

Solo Soto

Postby Muggins » Sun Jun 24, 2007 10:08 pm

I say get that new solo album out ASAP. Those demos (on his myspace site) sound amazing. Bring it on. Jeff's got so many options now... He sacrificed so much to be with Journey. Now he can get back on track again!

at least Luke is willing to make NEW music. he knows he'll ALWAYS have to sing "I'll be over you" for the rest of his concert days, but he's also willing to make something new to go with it. That's more than SOMEONE can say.

And who exactly are you referring to?
"Falling in Between" was the first Toto album of original material since way-back-when in 1999.
As lackluster as current Journey is, even they're not that slothful.
And unlike most of their corndog-circuit-traveling rivals, (Styx, Leppard, Toto), Journey has yet to pawn off an album of crappy covers to their fans.
The day Journey releases a cover album is the day Herbie Herbert sends back a complimentary room service cart full of wondrous cakes and pies.

Why you gotta stir shit man...Luke's got a new album coming up January '08. He'll be touring with it soon thereafter. Guaranteed it will be one of the better Melodicrock albums of '08. Not sure when he will join up with JSS...it would be cool, but Luke has been keeping busy with other material.. BTW, His fusion / instrumental stuff is leaps and bounds above Schon's .

The covers album was pretty good. Sure everyone wanted new material, but outside of that aspect, comparatively speaking, name a band that did a better job of 'personalizing' a collection of songs that influenced them? (and don't say Def Leopard)

Luke isn't a douche, and kicks ass. Plus he knows about music, Neal knows NADA about what stuff is
called. Luke won a Grammy jamming with Larry Carlton. Luke also has a hot wife. Luke isn't afraid
to tell nasty ass jokes onstage.

Miles Davis asked Luke to tour with him. Neal got Michael Bolton. :P

Luke wants to do new music, not live in the past.

Neal might not read music, but the guy knows his craft inside and out and, by most accounts, is a veritable guitar guru.

Impersonations might have been cutting edge in Milton Berle’s day - back when stand-up routines still consisted of 80% black jokes.
As it stands now, Luke’s Sammy Davis Jr. / Michael Jackson impersonations are about as fresh as Ed McMahon’s farts.

At the urging of one, Walter James Herbert.
If you got the big guy in your court, your talent is above question.
The same fickle media that pans Journey pans Bolton.
Truth is, for those secure enough in their heterosexuality to admit it, both are melodic juggernauts whos influence should never be denied.

JrnySuxBalls wrote:Luke wants to do new music, not live in the past.

Toto’s recent musical output sorely contradicts that.

Nobody was debating solo output (or Grammys, for that matter; or respective wives’ hotness quotient; or the dubious merits of Michael Bolton, etc.)
'WhoCares' cried laziness on the part of Journey, and held up Toto as the picture of assembly-line-like musical productivity.
Simply isn’t so.
Recently, Toto has released less tunes, not more.
These are the facts.
If you wish to blow a gasket and lose total control of your bowels in front of the computer screen, go right ahead.
Maybe I will join in with ya, so at least finally someone will have given two shits about Toto.

Is TOTO all that Luke does? No. And that's subjective. How many Gens songs on that last tour? And tell me how the title
track of Falling In Between has ANYTHING to do with TOTO IV.

Luke doesn't do only stuff that pays, unlike Neal. Woo hoo Soul Sirkus was a creative outlet until it cost him some
bucks. Suddenly it's done. Luke will come off a world tour, and go blow at a local club, because it's fun and he
enjoys playing the guitar. When Neal comes home, it's all about the lifestyle baby.

Yup.
Neal is such a musical nincompoop, he has a rack of mock-Gibsons made from old FedEx boxes, rubber bands and scotch tape.
One time on stage I saw him clamp down on a live amplifier wire and violently shake his head side-to-side like a Bull Mastiff with a new favorite chew toy.
He then promptly squatted and took a dump next to the drum kit and kept strumming like nothing had happened.
TOTAL SPED RETARD!

I didn’t miss it, I just don’t think any bestowing of accolades by the music establishment is worth noting.
Neal got a Grammy nom for playing on an album all by himself – ALL BY HIMSELF.
Again, really, who gives a fuck?
In an age where Grammys are routinely handed to exalted strippers and glock-toting street hooligans, is receiving one even still an honor?
Even if it was shared with some shriveled old Jazz musician that nobody cares about?

If I wanted a burlesque show, I’d go to the Catskills.
Say, part of Luke’s stage act wouldn’t also happen to include magic tricks by any chance?
See, I couldn’t help but notice that his lead singer’s voice miraculously comes and go at will.

What a silly whore.
Just a week ago, Journey was the best band in the universe.
Now, because of Jeff’s firing, you are willing to go through any number of back-flipping, cellulite-jiggling lengths to depict Neal Schon as some sub-retarded box car hopping hobo.
And next week, after Luke unexpectedly dismisses Bobby, out will come the big guns: Mussolini & Hitler analogies!

Stop wasting everyone’s time with these convenient calculated efforts to shamelessly curry favor with Jeff.
If you want to kiss somebody’s ass who can actually open doors for you, start with your shift manager down at the Waffle Hut.
