Waking up in the middle of the night I tossed and turned (No I did not toss salad or turn over a round one) I just tossed and turned and what came from the tossing and turning was “The Immaculate Proposal”.
An idea that I almost feel if it comes to pass I should get royalties as I have truly out done myself this time.
In history we had the “Immaculate Conception”, then there was “The Immaculate Reception”, now comes “The Immaculate Proposal”.
In the day, Journey was a band that set the trends, both with great music but their stage productions etc.
They should end this with something different, tiny, yellow, different.
If memory serves me correctly I believe Herbie had it laid out that the last album would be Journey “Freedom”? If I am wrong I am sure somebody here will jump my ship and make me eat my own feces.
Anyway, picture the album cover, picture a Scarab flying out over an ocean to an unknown destination finally free and laying the Journey Album Series to rest.
I have heard the bitching; I have heard the moaning of how they will never get back together, how they could never stand each other back on the road. Fair enough !!!
So here is how the Immaculate Proposal goes down. This final album will be known as follows. Journey featuring Steve Perry “Freedom”. He does not need to join back with them, they come in as separate individuals keeping their own current identities and current state intact.
Remember when Van Halen cut a new song a few years back with David Lee Roth ? The Halen bro’s went in and laid down the music, the Roth went and laid down the vocals.
I am sure they would need to spend some time together to get decent music, but with modern technology that could be limited.
With this, the whole purpose is to finish the Journey Collection so we as fans can sleep at night and anyone else that has followed the Journey Train.
They go into this not to tour on it, but just finish what was started and hopefully for all our pride have another Grammy nominated hit we can all be proud of, maybe they can prove that an old rock band can have a hit late in life when all the others said no way. I don’t think Perry realizes how thirsty we all are for just one more sound of anything coming from his mouth. I truly feel we as fans could make the album shoot the charts.
Hell they can even have the lawyers draw it up so that neither side can perform the new music out on the road unless it is the original band.
Then Journey can just go back on the road with their Greatest Hits Tour if they want and Perry can go back to enjoying life and watching movies finally putting the true Journey to rest.
In the end they put out the last Journey album from the original concepted idea, Perry does not rejoin, he is just featured keeping his rep in tact.
We can all sleep a little better, maybe we can all even get jobs and give up the food stamps.
People usually do not change, but maybe they can all change long enough for “The Immaculate Proposal”.
It is kind of funny life is, until one day someone gets old and you realize it is getting close to the end and things appear differently and you do things you never said you would, it takes an Immaculate Proposal to have the brains to do it before it gets to that point and is too late. It is getting pretty damn close to too late, not many Rolling Stones around.
To me Journey is like somebody you really love that has a problem, maybe a drug or gambling problem. You sit and watch them struggle, your on their side, you always pull for them, you watch from a distance and hope and pray they will get it together. As it goes on you feel helpless as you know you can only do so much as you watch them self destruct. You cannot reason in your mind why someone who you feel has everything to live for would do this to themselves, so all you can do is be there and hope but eventually it is up to the individual to sink or swim.
I think everyone in the industry, fans etc sit and watch Journey and hope they don’t destruct to the point of obliteration, but I must say that they are not looking too good right now. We can just sit and hope for “The Immaculate Proposal” copyright DRWIX Productions all right reserved. bwahahahahahah

The guys would record in LA, and then DD would add the vocals in Phoenix. They were just constantly mailing tapes back & forth until they got it right.
In fact, a lot of bands do this today because of electronic media & email.
Closer to home, didn't Augeri do the Generations vocals by himself? Wasn't NS off doing something else before the album was done?
later~

insane money hungry management and lawyers arent reasonable...
touring is where the band is making money ,, that pathetic little stage they are using is just to
save money.. last year they , because of JSS and def lep, was the 6th highest grossing
tour package.. NOT BAD!!!
would the album sell if perry was on it , yet didnt sing on the tour? you tour to sell your album,,
but with a label not backing you because you dont have the original singer , it doesnt sell,, and its
much more complicated than i can even imagine,,
then the t-shirts and merchandising ,, whos pic gets put on for the singer?? who gets the cuts
of merchandising ,,
who is going to explane this concept to neal schon? thats the biggest question,, sure he understands
money and how to play the best rock guitar in the world,, but this will be difficult,, AND he would
again be upstaged by perry ,, then the new guy,, no ,, i think its prob just a dream... i have to keep
telling myself ,, these are just musicians,, not the brightest knifes in the drawer..
