if the police can reunite why can't journey?

sting and the others in the group couldn't stand each other and fist fought on more than one occasion.i just got the new rolling stone with the police on the cover.journey is blowing a huge opportunity to seize the spotlight hot off the sopranos putting their music back in the open plus rumors of MTV talking about doing an unplugged.it'll be really sad if they waste this chance.

Everyone is on board for a reunion except Perry. Whether his demands have not been met, his voice doesn't meet his standards, he dislikes the guys too much, he doesn't want to tour extensively again or he's getting in shape to do it eventually, it isn't happening as of now. In light of recent events, I will not question his decisions pertaining to touring or not touring again with these guys. As for releasing new material or singing a few solo shows, the fucker needs to get crackin'. :D

He needs time for his dentures to settle in so they don't fall out as easily when he hits those high notes in DSB.

Internal bickering aside, I think that's the overall reason right there...

Perry might opt to release a recording of new material with different artists, where he can pro-tools his vocal in a studio setting to come out with a solid final song, but sing the old catalogue live on a huge tour? With or without Journey, never happen.

Guys, you have to face facts. Perry is almost 60 years old. That means his vocal chords are almost 60 years old too. He can't live up to what he did when he was young and he knows it. When he interviewed about his experiences producing the 1981 live dvd concert, he himself said it was emotionally painful for him to watch. You think it was just about reliving his moments with Journey? I'm sure that's part of it, but I guarantee you, it was painful for him to watch what he was once capable of knowing he can no longer do it. The artist in him hasn't died, but his instrument has deteriorated beyond his standards. That's got to be tough to deal with. (I say this as an artist myself so I understand the point of view)

Will we ever hear from him again? Maybe. Depends on what he produces with Nuno. If he himself doesn't like it, he'll tuck it away in a closet like he did his first recordings with Nuno and that will be that. Hopefully we'll hear it because I still think the guy can sing and infuse emotion into a song. "Can't let you go", his collaboration with guitarist Jeff Golub was great. Hell, I think he should do a whole album of that kind of material. I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

I'm absolutely positive Perry can still sing & that his voice is just as good as it was when we last heard from him on a solo album.

Everyone here likes to joke as if he's done absolutely nothing these past 12 yrs. But he has done quite a bit. Not just Journey remasters. He has collaborated w/& worked w/several bands/artists.

Everyone also likes to say he couldnt handle touring again. Maybe not 3-4 nites a week for months on end w/Journey, but something tells me he could still handle less dates per week very well. Most people in their 40s (never mind late-50s) couldn't handle Journey's touring schedule. It's tough.

I think Perry just prefers not to get back into the limelight again. After all, there are still rabid fans making pilgrimages to San Diego hoping they can track him down! He has a quieter life now & after all the crazy touring, maybe he enjoys it that way.

I dont think we've heard the last of him tho. Call me an optimistic loon!

Not to START and rumors, and NO I'm NOT starting a rumor, and by the way, I'm NOT starting a rumor,

BUT.....

Many bands from the past have all started the ball rolling by getting in the media more and denying reunion rumors. Motley did it and had a HUGE tour, Ratt just did it, White Lion seems to be in the middle of one, Kiss for sure did it in 1995-96, so....

Ya never know....

No I have never done anything like that. I am not a rabid loon, contrary to ur beliefs. I went to 2 of the man's solo concerts & didnt even rush to the stage to touch him. Shocked are u?

However, friends told me they read about these pilgrames on some of the Perry forums. (BTW, I dont participate in ANY of the Perry forums before u accuse me of that.)

& yep, u did come in here after me. At least u admit it now. :P

You call them "friends" sane people call them "voices in your head."

This sounds so much like one of those tv shows or something where the person has done something and wants to talk about it, but not admit it was them.
They always tell the other party, "Dad/Mom, I have this friend who thinks about perry and JSS fantasies all the time. The friend is in an online cult club called the PSLOA. Do you think this friend is weird?"

Here we go again. U just CANT give it up can u? Not even after my nice PM to u asking u to stop. But ur rude responses told me that.

For the record, the first time I heard of the PSLOA club was from u. It actually makes me wonder if u tried to join but the women in the club rejected ur fantasies as too damn perverted or something. Nothing else would explain ur out & out unjustified hatred of all female Perry fans.

Either Monker of FrankSGrey opened our eyes to utter the horror that is mere the existence of PSLOA.

And you SO fit the profile of a charter member. :)

What is the profile of a member? Obviously u know the charter & I don't. What does that tell u?

The first reason is this, the STONE that was fractured is still cracked. Lawyers have contacted several glue companies on a bonding element that would hold the two stone pieces together. So far nothing is working. I recommend emailing any and all glue companies and persuade them to keep working on a resolution. Until then it will not happen.

Sting's voice isn't much better than Steve's at this point. If you saw the Grammy show, things have not gotten much better since then. Most of the songs were tuned down, melodies changed and Sting sung alot of parts an octave lower. The version of Stand so Close was like the lame 86 version, a lot of the songs were changed like that one. Roxanne was fine and a couple of other songs. It seems that his voice isn't gone, he just doesn't want to use it for most of the show. I wasn't disappointed because I figured that's what would happen. Years of boring solo albums and tours have kind of taken the fire out of Sting. I was there to see Stewart, who was the star of the show.

Here you are, light of my life. this is courtesy of SGrey and Monker, coming in my thread BT Creator Weighs In from back in the day. See if this reminds you of anybody  :

I remember these posts on Journey-L...It was right around the time of the Perry FTLOSM tour....where someone was posting these fantasy stories with Perry and Neal...set in medievil times....riding unicorns and knights fighting dragons for journey's honor and....well you get the idea.

I remember at the time going "This is completely effin nuts!"

I remember thinking the same thing.

Monker wrote:

One thing about this...

I believe ChrisPV wrote those posts. I don't have a problem with her at all. When people complained about those posts on the list, she took her story off the list and did her own thing. She is still a member of the Journey mailing list and would probably agree with much of what has been said here.

Let me tell about some things that ARE "completely nuts":

Back in 1992-1994, when I was on Prodigy, someone started posting and making a big deal about something called "PSL of A"...as if you were not REALLY a fan unless you knew what it was. So, this chick who was in this 'clique' I was a part of dreamt up this elaborate plan to befriend the "PSL of A" person, earn her trust, and get a copy of "PSL of A".

The first thing that went through my mind is that I wanted nothing to do with 'cliques' any longer because they have their share of backstabbing liars, as the above shows. The next thing is I found out, through a third party that I trusted, exactly what "PSL of A" was and read a bit of it. As she said (funny how all these people are women, huh?) it represented the worst of Journey fandom, and she was absolutely correct.

"PSL of A" stands for, "Portuguese Sausage Lovers of America". It was/is a fanzine of pornographic fantasies centered around Steve Perry. Basicaly, subscribers could write their fantasies about Perry, mail them in and have them published and shared to the rest of the subscribers.

Nowadays, I probably wouldn't be suprised by that at all...But, back then, I was pretty suprised that people were THAT into Steve Perry. Not only were they writing their fantasies down, but they actualy shared them with others so they could all get off on them together. Just, very, very weird. I'm sure it happens today...and I still think it's weird.

So, that, IMO, is 'completely nuts'. Steve Perry riding a unicorn is a bit innocent, IMO. Unless, of course, Steve Perry is REALLY 'riding' a unicorn. LOL.

Never heard of that. Don't even know what Journey-L is. I wasnt on ANY Journey forum/list/whatever until I joined this one. I've never used Prodigy in my life. I've never written fan-fiction porn fantasies about Perry either, nor have I had one. One time a few of us girls on here wrote about how hot Perry was. That's the closest to that I've ever come to anything even remotely connected to the above & I wasn't the only woman who did it. But it seems I'm the only one u target. How come?
