Does Gregg Rolie ever have anything to say about Journey?

Postby tj » Fri Jun 29, 2007 11:28 am

I know it's been more than 25 years since he left the band, but does Gregg Rolie ever talk about Journey - his time in the band, their music and drama since he left, etc.?

His time in the band, a little. But nothing else really. Classy guy.

I would love to hear an interview with Gregg on his take about what has happened to the band over the years. It would be really interesting!

I would love to hear that interview too Kimmy. He kind of tends to stay away from that kind of thing I guess.

Now that I've had time to reflect on all this shit...I'm not happy with the way things happened but I am actually glad Jeff's not in Journey anymore. The guy is ALL class and I just know he's gonna leave 'em in the dust in EVERY WAY imaginable. ESPECIALLY CREATIVLY.

I think he said all that needed said
on his first solo album with this little ditty...
later made famous by Eddie Money
with Mike Baird playing drums :).
(I like Rolie's version better even though he didn't write it).

I was listening to the radio
I heard a song reminded me of long ago
Back then I thought that things were never gonna change
It used to be that I never had to feel the pain
I know that things will never be the same now

I wanna go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I wanna go back
Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know

I recall hanging out on Friday night
The first slow dance
Hoping that I'll get it right
Back then I thought I'd never ever stand alone
It used to be that a lonely heart was never shown
I know that things will never be the same

I wanna go back
And do it all over again
But I can't go back I know
I wanna go back
Cause I'm feeling so much older
But I can't go back I know
