OT: Songs That Don't Seem To End

I was flipping through stations on the way to work this morning and an Eagles tune was playing. I was singing along and realized that this flipping song just didn't seem to want to end. It was Take It To The Limit. Just when you'd think it was done, they went through the chorus again.... and again.... and again...

Other songs that seem to never end are

Journey - Lovin Touchin Squeezin with the na na na na na na na at the end

REO Speedwagon - Keep On Rollin, as it keeps on going and going and going some more

Anyone else have any more tunes to add?

Pretty much any song Journey plays live has a ridiculous drum bashing, guitar screeching ending these days. Makes me not want to even clap after the additional 1 minute clusterfuck of noise has ended. Fucks up the whole song.

I enjoy the songs "In The City," and "Life In The Fast Lane" as well as the Hell Freezes Over live version of Hotel California w/ the Spanish guitars.

Beyond that the Eagles put my dental work in peril and yes Take It To The Limit goes on about 2 seconds less than infinity.

BTW, to the Stairway point above: anybody notice that even though it's frequently billed as the most requested radio song ever, and 15 years ago its # of rotations seemed to back that up, you hardly ever hear it anymore?
I think it's due to the ADD/robot era of rigidly formatted, 4 minute maximum song lenght radio even on the "Classic Rock" stations.

Feel free to blaze away, AKay but you know in the big market CR stations that is true.

The Eagles Live CD got played quite a bit on my recent vacation. Great summertime music.

I agree, end the freakin song already. I wonder if they do that to give us something to listen to while the singer rests his cords.

I went through a BIG Floyyd phase, thought I had aquired the taste, found out that I really didn't and just dropped them. I basically like The Division Bell and that's it. And seasons change when you put on the Pulse Version of that song.

Back in the day, I used to edit out the piano solo ending, leaving just the first half. I've gotten used to the ending now, though.

I think that's an incredible song. Not a big Clapton fan, either. Just like I love Born to Run, but not a big Bruce fan.

Same here. I like Clapton OK but I never have been able to get into Springsteen other than a handful of tunes.

Used to love new Bruce USA on up and hate old Bruce (used to think they were all the same songs about dusty bars, boardwalk arcades, backroads, beaches, gas stations, rivers, hanging out, small-town life, street racing and young love but then I realized that's a lot of people's lives before like, age 26).
Now I dig ALL Bruce a ton, especially old.

The entire "Tales from Topographic Oceans" album by Yes...Four songs at nearly 20 minutes apiece is just too much. For the same reason, I'd throw in Jethro Tull's "Passion Play" (one 40+ minute track) and "Thick as a Brick" (two 20 minute tracks), and Fates Warning's "A Pleasant Shade of Gray" (one 60+ minute track). All great music, but just too long to really sit and pay attention to the music the whole time.

Anything live by the Allman Brothers and "Do You Feel Like We Do" from Frampton. "Slowride" from Foghat. "The End" from the Doors...ugh. "November Rain" Guns and Roses. And the worst song ever recorded(outside of Freebird)"American Pie" from Don McLean.

Oh and since the invention of the computerized media touch radio god, we don't have to rely on Stairway to go to the bathroom! :lol:

There's 2 versions of American Pie by Don McLean. There was an 8 minute version and a 4 minute version. I had both when I used to DJ. On busy nights, we did the 4 minute version, but on slower nights with the good ol' boys in the bar, we'd do the 8 because they'd all sit and sing along :lol:
