2 of my all time favorite Journey songs. When they were good and had a non-fag keyboard player.

Memorex, of course.

Besides sounding exactly like the record being played (which it is), check out the tape covering Smitty's snare.

One of the first pieces of live (well, not really) Journey footage I ever saw so it holds good memories for me. Had to wait until I saw clips of Houston '81 to hear what they really sounded like live, though. (Well, live with studio recorded backing vocals)

I wonder why one performance on Midnight Special was memorex and this MS one wasn't (only a year apart)..........definately LIVE. :?

No. They weren't promoting this as a "live" concert as Journey was. BIG difference.

Do they promote any concert as "live"? Wolfman did say "in concert" but never did say "live". I'm not sure I've ever seen a concert advertised as "live". It just makes me wonder if Perry every lipped in concert. You just never know.

If you guys watch the Raised on Radio documentary that's out there, listen to the back-up vocals. They're the exact backing vocals from the ROR Album! It's funny to watch Randy Jackson (in his highly fashionable tights) lippin the mic as if he's singing the back-ups! Not knocking his bass playing, but that's all Perry coming out of those speakers. The difference, was that HE recorded all of those vocal lines, wrote (most of) those vocal lines, but he was definitely singing live on the leads. JMHO!

I can't find the 3 songs they did on the Tom Snyder Show c 1981. Would anyone here have it? One was DSB, WCN and I forget the third. I could only find 1 on YouTube.

I'm sure those people got in for free. Not a paying concert. Big difference. They were CLEARLY not hiding the fact that it was a recorded show also.
