Laura wasn't available,so a added a *flower*... At least that's how I call it.

Speaking of names, when I was reading the interview,I just noticed Steve Perry's signature on that first pic.
It was different from what it turned into during the Journey years...Was he signing as "Stephen Perry"?,or am I seeing it wrong? :?

Thanks Laura, that was the first thing I've ever read about the Sullies other than what was was it the BTM. I'd love to hear some of the stuff Steve has hoarded away.

I remember those "garageband days". I'm from Steve's generation, I also graduated in '67, and even in the midwest every highschool had at least one garageband. I remember those Teen Club and Teen Center dances well. There were quite a few "Battles of the Bands" in the Omaha area too. The only guy I ever knew from one that had any kind of moderate success in the music business was from my highschool and he ended up in Nashville.

Oh, wow - what a great find! Thank your friend. It's great to hear about before Journey...I had no idea that The Sullies were that big. Would be super to hear & see those recordings, but I guess that's unlikely. Also, interesting that they formed right around that turn of RocknRoll (The Beatles & the British Invasion & The Beach Boys)...wonder what their original songs were like.

Bill Bilhou (the Sullies' keyboardist) is still active in The Well.

Looks like there's some '60s like action going on in the Hanford area this Fall.

"60sgaragebands.com will shortly be announcing final details on our upcoming Brymers' CD, scheduled for release sometime in May. Best know for the classic punk sound of "Sacrifice," The Brymers have just finalized a deal with five officials from The City of Hanford. According to drummer Dick Lee, "The Brymers" along with "The Beach Band" (Bill Bilhou’s of The Sullies group) will be performing a concert at a Melco dance Saturday, October 13th at the Hanford Civic Auditorium. The dance will be put on exactly like the ones in the '60s where everyone can dance and have a great time(...) It should be pretty cool and add to that '60s feeling of old rock-n-roll."

So Steve must have a wealth of material from his beginnings that he must know that we would sell our souls for.

In this whole wide world, I can't imagine what it must be like to be Steve Perry. He's that special.

Thanks for that, Laura. A little bit more of what makes up the man.

Just the five tracks that were out there as bootlegs....terrible bootlegs I might add. The pitch was off and it sounded like Alvin & The Chipmunks. I had a tape deck with pitch control so I was able to get the songs close to their original speed, but the quality still sucked. I was very happy when Steve included 4 of those tracks on the remastered stuff.
