Yep, Jeff worked his butt off for them. It all boils down to the ego's of Fro and Friga. I'm sure they weren't expecting quite the amount of female response for Jeff that there has been. He made them look even more old, frumpy, short, tired and botoxed then they already are. Nothing wrong with aging guys, learn to graciously accept it and embrace it. Can't say that their to blame for the attitude and insecurity though, just for buying into it and becoming plastic people in more ways then one. Our culture is too youth driven and we dont appreciate the beauty that can come with ageing. It is a soulless, plastic, money worshiping society we live in where experience, knowledge, and talent are not as valued as much as youth, appearance, and bank accounts. When going with that attitude of superficiality and obtaining more wealth by filling their pockets through the use of a friend they also lost something else that is far more important then their looks and has more value then any amount of money...honesty, integrity, and loyalty. They and the rest of society... too much surface and no depth.

Ahh, thanks for that post. You are absolutely correct, they blew it. There was nothing wrong with that performance. He should have been their future. Stupid decision to let him go. He's better off now. I hope he gets huge and soars past Journey and leaves them in the dust.

Sounds to me like the background vocals are canned. Even sounds like I hear Augeri in there. Could be wrong...anyone else hear it too?

Who knows? Jeff was 100% live and that is what is so cool. I don't mind a few tricks here and there, just don't lip.

Perry is still in the Message of Love intro, and no one is telling me anything different.

Jeff is the real deal. What a major fuck up on their part.

Jeremey would be a good choice and is amazing. Other than the fact that I like Jeremey, what else am I supposed to care about for this band's future though?

And if anyone else gets the gig - that's even worse!

I don't know, to me it sounds like Deen and the crowd. Either way it was a great performance. Deen's gotta have a sore neck after a nights work, that fuckin' heads moving around like a wigglers ass on a tread mill.

Yes I heard that too. They and the majority of the audience cant let go of keeping that Perry kind of high in there on the songs. I would have accepted a new kind of sound from them with new music from Jeff, but the majority would not be as accepting so they want to stay with their bread and butter sound and have to have that high voice that is associated with Journey music. This is the second part of the equasion, along with what I stated above, that is the reasoning for firing Jeff. A change of direction could have been good and refreshing, but they go with the tried and true. No energy or willingness to give up or risk any of the lifestyle they have become accustomed to for the sake of their art. No guts and glory, it's money and comfort for them. Stick with the formula no matter how old and tired it starts to sound or who you have to sacrifice for it. Whats so sad is that no matter what they do it still wont match what was with Perry. If not willing to change they need to give up the ghost and retire, or just go on accepting only what they can try to pull off in whatever it takes to make the sound similar and slowly fade into obscurity. This to me is not keeping the legacy intact...this is a copout and with their actions only tarnishes and diminishes the legacy.

AR....since I dont know much about Hugo, maybe you can explain the difference between him and Jeremy. I've seen them both on Utube, they both sound pretty good, but Hugo looks the part and if they are wanting the nostalgia back, then Hugo would be the better choice, right? Like I said all of you know MUCH more about Jeremy and Hugo than me, so I'de like some input as to why Jeremy and not Hugo.

So, how does that relate to the subject of this thread?

I like Hugo's solo material but he lacks power performing the Journey stuff. Jeremey's voice is a lot stronger.
