I chose "SP / hell freezes over" because it's hot and humid and my air is broke, so anything freezing over sounds like a great idea right now. Other than that I'm running whith who gives a fuck.

I chose two answers. The first is what I'm sure is going to happen...Jeremey Hunsicker - New Lead singer - beginning of 2008.

The second is what I honestly feel should happen...We are old, washed up and besides we can't get SP back, we are going to retire - early 2008!

Journey was a "never was" before Perry and have been nothing but a "has been" since Perry decided to exit stage left. Schon and Cain are doing nothing but attempting to hold onto a dream, AT ANY COST! Someday after it's all officially over, they will come to the realization that the legacy of Journey was built, brick by brick, on the voice of Steve Perry! Without Perry's voice, nobody is showing up to listen to Cain tickle the ivories or Schon jam on his 6 string!

Honestly, if you really believe that Journey hiring a guy who sounds EXACTLY like Perry is going to be their downfall, you're high or drunk. Whether you like it or not - and I'm still rip shit PO'd about the JSS thing - the 98% of the fans out there who don't know what's going on or don't care, are going to still go to the shows, and the promoters, if anything, will be more likely to back a Perry clone. You don't have to like it, but just be realistic, and objectively assess the situation grounded in reality, with a basic knowledge about the industry. They're not going to retire, and they're not going to suffer noticeable drop-offs in attendance.

Agreed. That's why the meltdown that some people on this board think is going to happen to "Journey" will not.

John/Boston I agree. St John I did not pay but one time to hear Augeri ,would go see Jeff whenever I could if he wasn't unceremoniously dumped and I have NO INTEREST in giving these ........... any more money. New singer ,I hope you are ready for some rodeos.

You are correct, that's why you can't leave Hugo out of the possibility of being offered the job, to much money to be made.

Agreed. They might lose a few who hear about this from their classic rock stations, but it won't be the majority.

Naughtius Maximus wrote:and the promoters, if anything, will be more likely to back a Perry clone.

I'm not sure the promoters would care if it was Jeff, Augeri, Jeremey, Chalfant, Hugo, or anyone else up there in terms of what they'd back. As long as the band is still called Journey & sounds similar enough to the GH, the promoters know people will buy tix. That's all that matters.

You just can't resist using your tiny brain to bring this topic down into the gutter, grow up and have an intelligent comment for a change.

OR maybe YOU could actually post about something OTHER than Hugo to avoid being labeled? Ever thought of that?
