That's scary stuff! We don't have to worry about that too much, here on the eastcoast. We just get tornados and hurricanes! I know they've gotta think that one day, they'll have one hit so big that the city is leveled! It's a shame, b/c it's a beautiful city! One of my favorites to visit. I think China town is what I like most...Beautiful! I got drunk underneath the bridge one night, and just sat on the bank looking out at Alcatraz (Think that's how it's spelled?). Very cool! I wouldn't want to live there though, as the traffic would make me go insane!!!

4.2 is nothing. Get 2.0 to 3.5's all week. Don't even bat an eye.

We felt an earthquake here in Florida about a year ago. It was centered about 600 miles off the coast of Tampa, in the Gulf of Mexico. We felt it all the way up here in the panhandle. Only lasted a few seconds, but still was a very weird feeling. Don't remember what it measured on the Richter Scale.

The quake centered in the Oakland Hills. There hasn't been any reports of injuries, but damage to plate glass windows have been reported. Those stores are staying closed until repairs are made. Power outages affecting some areas too. ( Been watching the SF Bay Area news since I got up.)

Dean is right, a 4.2 is really nothing. Having been born and raised in the SF Bay Area, I have felt larger ones than this that will cause more damage and injuries. :D

Deano, you took the words right out of my mouth! My house sits on the Hayward Fault and we don't even freak at anything less than...well, a big one! LOL! Even Loma Prieta was quite a "ride" - I did not see the damage to the area until we got our electricity back the next day, but here in my house we were like, "Wow! This is an "E"ticket!"

When you are born and raised in the SF Bay Area, this is nothing. We don't even talk about it!

So glad y'all are taking this well. Earthquakes make me completely nervous!!! I'll take hurricanes - I know when they're coming at me - usually.... ;)

Unless it's bigass, earthquakes are kinda fun. Definitely gets the heart going for a few seconds. I can take hurricanes too, handled enough of them having had beach front property on the east coast. What freaks me out are the damn tornados... I don't know how you guys do it.
