Steve Perry & Neal Schon Acoustic Versions

One thing Id love to see in my lifetime is Neal and Steve sitting down and recording a DVD of 30 or 40 songs, done just Steves voice and neals guitar. Change the keys so Perry can sing it, make it softer and make it all about the songs. What a great way to bury the hatchet and think of the money they could make.

Dream on. Perry's done.... he's said it more times than there are digits in the number Pi...

He's ALSO said: "...but I never say never" and thrown in tons of phrases that have open-ended possibilities. Until he says "I'll never sing in Journey again" I'll keep believin'. I'm not gonna expect him sing, but I'll leave the possibility of it happening, open.

At this point, I would be just as happy with another Perry solo album.

Maybe he'll do a reggae-influenced album ala "Baby I'm a Leavin' You".

Funny... I've read all the Perry interviews... and his answers to the "Journey question" are overwhelmingly "no reunion" with the band... or with the individual members....

...but hey.... I'd love a Perry solo record too...

Perry himself said he's in the nana's. I thought that was a great to put it.

He also said in the last year that he was taking voice lessons "to see what I've got". So nobody knows but him.

Hey Dave....question for ya.

I always get razzed by my buds for liking the Dianno years. I know Bruce is known as the Maiden Singer, but Paul had this distinct voice. And 'KILLERS" absolutely RAWKED!

What say you?

And 'Remember Tomorrow' has got to be my fave Maiden tune.....

Love Maiden although not their last two albums, I even liked Blaze but more so on his solo stuff. Have you heard newer Dianno, it rawks (he sounds alot like Dickinson on this)! -

Me too! In fact..this is the dream scnario for me...far more than a new Journey album or even a new Perry solo album. This idea worked brilliantly for Whitesnake - with just Coverdale and Vandenberg doing the classics with a couple of new tracks thrown in - and Schon's acoustic work on the relatively recent live version of Liberty with the guys from Styx and REO was utterly superb too. It added a whole new dimension to that track and had it been Perry singing...well, just imagine how great it would have been.

And yes, the unplugged format would also allow Perry to sing in a soft, low key way - rather like his voice on TBF the song. Plus it's a dignified way for elderly musicians to perform. No poncing about in leather trousers trying to be young. Just a couple of old fucks on a pair of stools. Brilliant...

I definitely like Dickinson much better as the singer. There's something about Dianno's voice that I don't care for but he's not terribly bad. Anyway, I'm not as familiar with those first two albums and I don't have them, so I can't really comment much about them. I used to have all the MP3s for them but just never listened much.
