E5C4P3 is #1 for me. Departure #2 so I could see Rolie. Evolution tour would have been interesting.

How stupid is it that bands don't tour behind albums anymore, and instead give the tours dumb names like "Under the Radar" and "The Main Event"? I hate that.

Frontiers for me, then Escape. Evolution would probably come in third. Never got to see Perry. :(

I was fortunate enough to see the Escape and Frontiers tours, as well as ROR.

So I would have liked to have seen the Departure tour, to have seen Rolie.
Captured, which of course was recorded on the Departure tour, sounds incredible--so much raw energy and enthusiasm

Definitely Escape for me. I never got to see Perry either, and watching that Houston DVD, damn, it must have been incredible to be there in person.

My mom wouldn't let me go. If she had let me, I definitely would have been there.

Wait 'til she sees the nursing home I'm gonna sticker her in for that one.

Any of the early tours with Steve Perry (pre-Escape). Being in SF, Journey was a local band and I cannot believe I didn't know or take advantage of that fact before they "hit it big", so to speak. I missed them at a "Day on the Green" in Oakland - fifteen minutes away because back in the late '70s I wouldn't have known Steve Perry from a hole in the wall. I was , ahem, very into the Bee Gees at that time (still am, as a matter of fact! LOL!)

Sounds about the right order for me too. Then again any tour with Perry would've worked for me since I never got to see him. :?

I saw Frontiers and Arrival...

The ony other era I'd be interested in seeing is the ROR lineup and the JSS fronted lineup.

I've just seen it. Journey in the UK with JSS at the helm. The concert at Hammersmith in March was one of the all time great concerts in this country. Even Jeff has commented that it remains one of the absolute peaks of his career (even after all that's happened since) and he and the band were on fire that night. It may not have been a 50,000 crowd stadium but the intimate setting of Hammersmith Apollo created a fantastic sound and atmosphere.

Good point, Cyndy. I think we all would have liked to have seen a TBF tour. :(
I vividly remember watching the Journey website site with "Tour Dates Coming Soon" splashed on the home page.
I watched everyday...and watched...and watched....and it NEVER came!
Then the big annoucement that this band, and most of its fans, have never recovered from.
Sad, sad, sad. :( :( :(

The 2008 Horizons tour with JSS back out front would do me about right, too.

Me too. Altho I also liked Lee Majors & Erik Estrada (cringe). Mork & Mindy was my favorite show.

The Departure tour. Captured was the first album I ever bought - I would've loved to have seen one of those shows in person.

One of these days I am building a time machine. Then I am going back to 1980, grabbing my Dad who was still alive then & we're both going to go see Journey's Departure tour. We'll tour around w/them seeing every show. There might be room in the machine for a couple of more people. U have to cuss, smoke & drink. Any takers?
