Actually, it almost happened... Neal, Jonathan and Randy Jackson performed couple of Journey songs with Michael Bolton on some music awards back in 1987. if I'm correct. Steve Perry was sitting in public. Journey got some award for Raised On Radio then...
Don't remember who was on drums, though... wasn't Mike Baird...

Thanks for sharing! I really liked "Wait on love". I can almost hear it being a Bad English song(with a little tweaking). I forgot that they played with Bolton!

Yup... MB really had some pipes on him back in the late 70's and early-mid 80's and Rock really suited his vocal talents. Bruce Kulick of Kiss fame played guitar for him on many albums from BlackJack and on his first 2 solo albums.

Exactly. There is also a question what would have been with Journey if they continued with him after ROR.

I remember being dragged to a concert of his by my girlfriend after Bolton had turned into a complete pussy. Between every song, when it was quiet, I kept yelling "FOOLS GAME". I knew there was no chance in hell he would dare play that song, but I wanted to irritate his sorry ass while he was picking up the roses the women were throwing on stage to him. I even yelled "I was buying your albums when nobody else had heard of you". Pissed the hell out of my girlfriend.

There were some decent tunes on that "Michael Bolton" album. I've always thought Fools Game was great, and liked the song he did with Schon and Cain "You're All That I Need" off of "The Hunger".

Speaking of Bolton, I heard a great quote about Bryan Adams a few years ago related to Bolton. Dean, you might not want to read this one.... It said something like:

"Bryan Adams used to be a poor man's Bruce Springsteen - now he's a poor man's Michael Bolton". Ouch!

Thanks for the info, Cyndy. I thought it was him. In fact, I remember seeing him in the video for Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay.

Not sure how thrilled I am about Bolton working with Azoff....

I have nothing against Bolton for doing what he does, but he's kinda funny for denying his rocking past... When you check his official site, there isn't a word about his two albums from BLACK JACK, and first two MICHAEL BOLTON albums which rocked the house...

Oh...I don't know....at least seven classic albums...75 million units shifted worldwide...I wouldn't say this band has suffered from unfulfilled potential would you?

I agree they have strong numbers behind them, but there was a large space for even more...
many crossing points thru time... different possibilities... some could have been positive, some negative...
