New Frontiers Clip

Postby donnaplease » Mon Jul 30, 2007 8:35 am

This is from last night's Frontiers show in Roanoke, Virginia. This was my 5th time seeing Frontiers, and I must say that it blew the others away! It was the perfect way to end a terrific weekend with fellow Melodic Rockers!

To Neal Schon and the rest of Journey: This IS your next guy. Stop messing around and make it official.

Thank you Donna Please! I was there, and I swore up and down to my friend Pam last night and this morning that this song was performed. She said I halluncenated. I was at the end of the bar in the orange empire top and jeans.

sorry but he sounds too much like sp. he should stick with frontiers & not sell his soul to journey. it's funny just how quick people jump bandwagons. geez. i mean don't you people feel it was so wrong the way jss was treated by these assholes... now you're asking for them to hurry up & hire some new guy. i'm sorry but this pisses me off. then you have to come over on the jss board & suggest jeff do some stupid tv show to get exposer. are you serious??? sorry... i'm usually a nice person but i'm finding out people who are nice just leave themselves open to get fucked. i'm tired of being nice. grr!

i guess i'm not totally over it! }:C)

p.s. you might want to tell jeremey to check his text messages! it seems that's how n&j communicate.

Uh for the record Tree, Neal had suggested that they (the band) was gonna get themselves all over TV to introduce everybody to Jeff. So what exactly is the difference? It was Ok when Journey was gonna whore themselves to TV so people could see and hear Jeff but it's not Ok for him to do it himself if he chooses? Get a clue.

DOH!!! That was a good one.

I understand your aggravation, and yes I'm still pissed. I'm just glad for Jeremey that he's getting an opportunity to possibly front his favorite band. Outside of that, the other members of Journey mean nothing to me any more. And if for some reason Jeremey doesn't get the gig, there will be zero reason for me to give a damn. Ideally, we would still have a Jeff fronted Journey and a new record coming out. But looks to me like the 4 of them got together and decided to dump that deal and ride the catalog into retirement. No Jeff, no new record, nothing. They are catering to the casual fans, not us any longer. How fucking sad is that?
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

I'm sure that's a chance Jeremey is willing to take. No risk, no reward. Dude would be a fool to turn down the gig if it's offered to him.

This was as close to Perry as this band will EVER get and anyone who is completely honest will say that that is "the mark" that has to be met. AWESOME! The chance for this band "to break out in a new direction" was only even remotely there when Augeri took over and it didn't happen, mainly IMO because the bulk of Journey's fans simply don't want it to...they want to relive the classic Perry songs over and over and they know that it will never get better than the Perry years...the combination of Schon/Perry/Rolie/Cain is simply the absolute best the band will ever be. Reality is that the band is in it's sunset and I think it being only realistic on Schon and Cain's part to accept the fact that they ARE a nostalgia band, they will not break out of that "mold" and to take 1 more stab at it with a full-on Perry soundalike (range and power) in Jeremey, since Perry has nothing to prove and is a thing of the past (IMO very selfish that he deprives his fans of his immense remaining talents in at least a solo effort). I say "Let's have 1 last hurrah Journey!"

I think its damn rude when people come out and give others advice on their careers whether it be political, parenting, singing, song writing, what have you.
You don't like it, then don't comment, why does someone feel the need to give unsolicited advice?

Jeremey, man, you are incredible!

I wish I lived closer so I could see one of your shows.

Jeremey, that was awesome! Journey would be damn lucky to get you...I just hope you don't get burned.
Maybe, just maybe, since Jeremey can write songs that maybe there might be a few new ones to hear...

I didn't jump shit. I have been a Frontiers fan almost as long as I have been a JSS fan. I have seen as many Frontiers shows as I have seen Journey shows. This is not a Jeremey vs. Jeff thread. I have never compared the two, nor will I ever. I, as well as many others, see the situation with Jeremey and the situation with Jeff as two completely separate issues. Jeff is gone from Journey. No matter how sad, and how pissed, and how completely baffled by the whole thing we are, it's not gonna turn back the clock. Now Jeremey has an opportunity to live out his dream. He has always been very nice to me, much the same as Jeff has been. It's funny to me that the people that are making comments like 'jump bandwagon', etc. are the ones that expect those of us who happen to be friends with Jeremey to just drop him like a hot potato simply because Jeff got royally screwed. Sorry, I don't play that way. Jeff knows that I only want the BEST for him, and it's THAT opinion that matters. Whatever happens, these are 2 incredibly talented men in their own rights.

You are right about one thing. You usually ARE a nice person. Not sure what bug crawled up your ass tonight (although I probably have an idea), but you might wanna try to pull it outta there.

p.s. From what I understand, Jeremey knows perfectly well how to communicate with n&j.

I have been impressed with what I've heard Jeremey do before, but this one was unreal. I played it for someone who doesn't listen to near as much Journey as I do (or have) and even HE was impressed with it. WOW.

I must say that was pretty good. I've never been against Jeremey. Honestly, I'm against the LOVEFEST, as a whole. And that is with anything.

He may well be the NEXT guy. OK, so what. What gets me is the Hero Worship. Everybody acting like they are his campaign managers.

I think it is hilarious, and unneccesary.

Anyway, kudos to JH.

Not going to get into it with you, NIG.

All I will say is Jeremey was/is a poster on this site. Which is more than half of why people are enamored with him, plus he can sing.

If any of those other singers posted here it would be the same - with the exception of Hugo. he seems to be the Black Sheep.

Me having or not having any friends is irrelevant. I'm not knocking the guy, I'm knocking the Hero Worship.

Quit acting like you are the spokesperson for an entire generation.
