All these teenage slasher movies are so stupid to me now. Freddie, Jason, Myers, they won't die or keep coming back to life. Yawn!!! But Iron Man is gonna be totally believable and cool!!!

Ah cool. I was on set for the "MICHAEL STOP" portion... over and over and over. lol. And looks like they DID get the shot with him going over the railing.. I have stories on that one. Lord. Double overtime, police being pains in the butt... gawd.
With any luck, my bud (who is location for this movie) will get me into the premiere. My son met and spoke with Malcolm McDowell. I saw him, but I just hung back and watched the filming. Rob is a pretty cool guy from all accounts. Halloween is MY town!

Just for the record this thread freaks me out. Halloween is the other love of my life (I worked for the franchise for several years, actually) aside from Journey - and to see this in a Journey forum - weird

Very optomistic for this now.
The scene of MM on the roof of the Myers House is perfect.

That particular shot caused an accident. The actor landed on the lead actress, she ended up in the hospital for the night. Three separate nights of filming just to get that one shot, pollce being jerks... ah the joys of film.

Hm. Glad Zombie persevered to get that shot right, it is a CLASSIC myers moment all the while being something he's never done before. Great haunted house moment.

From what I understand, we didn't think that shot made it to the film (surprise surprise surprise). They only did that fall ONCE, and since he landed on the actress it kinda wrapped it for the night.
He (Rob) really wanted it in tho.

Doesnt Michael actually talk in this one for the first time??? As an adult???? This could have done without that....

Zombie was catching some heat for that, so I wonder if it actuall got left in the movie now or not.
I think where it happens and what is said is creepy.

Halloween is a classic. I'm not sure if RZ was ready for this project but I'll hold final judgement till 8/31 when Im in line at the theater. Actually I think I'll be able to catch an advance showing of it because of my Halloween connection. I was hoping he wouldnt get too radical with this character but I read John Carpenter gave his blessing so I will stay open minded.

Not sure if it's in or not, to tell you the truth, but yeah..it was planned.
A little extra tidbit on the filming of this movie: The "Myers" house you see being thrashed is reputedly "haunted". None of the grips or security would go in it alone. Doors opened by themselves, windows opened by themselves, and the basement... well, my son's girlfriend has a story about that sucker. Is it? I dunno, never got inside it. Where's TAPS???

Carpenter would give his blessing to Reardon if the check had enough zeros in it.
Shame, b/c I'd've loved to see Carpenter do a true sequel to HII (his version of H20 i guess) or this remake, with a budget and the neighborhood aging 29 more years.

Thats awesome about the house! I love to investigate old houses and cemetarys myself. I guess I watch too much TV but I'm part of a small group here that goes to places with the digital recorders and DV cameras and trys to document. We've captured a few things but nothing to put on TV yet. There was this old bridge in the country where a child drowned in 1979 and we picked up a EVP saying "Just go away..." Thats our best and our claim to non-fame!

I personally was hoping Carpenter would come back and put this series to rest in a proper manner. Big budget finale. Bring back the Sheriff Brackett from the first one, and Michaels niece to finally kill him off. I know Danielle Harris is in the remake but I think they should finish it off before anymore stupid fucking sequels come out.

It would be great for John Carpenter to finish the story he started but I guess with the loss of Mustapha Akkad and Debra Hill he prefers to let others continue it, or in this case re-invent it. To be honest, I think Debra Hill was more vital to this story than she got credit for from the horror fans.

This whole push for the remake came from Dimension, I have no doubt. Combine that with Moustapha's death, and Malek Akkad's insanity (several years ago he wanted to push a Native American connection into Michael) and the current trend to remake the classic horror films, and ta-da, RZ's Halloween. If Moustapha were still kicking, I really think the chances of seeing this remake would be slim. Side note, Malek didn't want Danielle Harris on the film (as she has talked to the public about not getting paid for H4 and H5), Dimension forced him to agree to it. After that, he'd only go down to the set when she was acting, and kept badgering her to go out with him.
Carpenter won't be back, especially now that Hill is dead. You were right on the money about Debra Hill, though - she really was half of that film's making (and cared a great deal about it through her whole life). JLC is also done with it, she only appeared in H8 because of a clause in her contract for H20, stating she had to appear in (appx) 4 minutes of new footage for H8.
I guess Carpenter never coming back kinda equates Perry never coming back eh?

I guess but it would be great if both would return....

As a big fan of the series, having Harris in the movie is annoying, she's a connection to the OLD defunct plotline, not the new storyline. And she did bitch to high heaven about not being in The Curse.

I read an article on a website that says Malcolm McDowell said he is signed to do three Halloween films. So it looks like there will be at least 2 more movies.
