Unfortunatley, and possibly party because he does all the running around that the wine and cheese, "PLAY BROWN SUGAR" crowd always raves about, Mick Jagger either can't or doesn't sing live anymore.
He just kinda talks/shouts/sorta sings in up and down tone deaf kind of ways live.
Studio he sounded good still on ABB, but he lost the Jagger growl or didn;t do it.

Tumor, part of the recover meds which were 'roids which he says thickened his chords and lowered his voice.
I think it's a combo of that and age.
I still don't mind it at all, especially if accompanied by Mick Jones' axe.

U know about these guys how? Actually, they can all still sing.
I'm in agreement with you Susie. He/she, and others that throw that out there, won't be able to provide that information, they know NONE of these singers or anything about them.

its one thing if they can sing, and one thing if they can cut it,,,
you have fun listening to them though , since most the stuff you hear with their voice on is as from 80's and 90s

Yeah, Pearcy sounds like ass.
Think we should add Bon Jovi? He seems to have turned in to Bruce Springsteen vocally.

I don't know if Perry will ever put out anything new but Augeri is coming out w/a new album this year & so is MJ who is also still performing live. I've been told he sounds awesome. I'm not a huge fan but I like some of his work. I'd suggest u wait to hear those before passing judgment on them.
Augeris new cd will be as exciting to me as Milli Vanillis "Girl You Know Its True".
Its funny , You would bash Augeri 6 months ago and now you promote people to listen to his music?
You can not possibly blame all thats good and evil and Neal, can you!?:)

Off the top of my head...
Axl Rose/Mick Jagger-Never thought they were that great to begin with.
Lou Gramm-Very sad, but not for reasons of his own fault. He's a great guy. Huge heart.
Jimi Jamison-Hit and miss.
Joe Elliot-What a bust.
Stephen Pearcey
Kevin Cronin-When he's not talking...
Bon Jovi-Sometimes yes, sometimes no, it's a weird thing with him.
Bret Michaels-Iffy at times
David Lee Roth-Has to sing with a lot of falseness now, but I will still go see VH because he was never that great to begin with. It was more about the whole DLR thing.
I have always tried to judge if someone could sing or still can sing by the live performance. Granted, this too can be doctored or faked, but in most cases it's a better judge than a studio recording.
How about who could never sing to begin with> Lawrence Gowan

This was their first big tour after Lou was somewhat better to even attempt a full tour. I was front row for a few shows. He was hit and miss and tired, but all heart.
The DVD you speak of was from this tour. It was put out for THE FANS and I believe only sold on their website, not some mainstream mass market thing. I have it. It also has a lot of behind the scenes stuff. I have not watched it for awhile, but I believe what they did was put every song on it that they sang that tour, but each song was from a different show. It's actually a neat very different dvd, but maybe only for a true Lou Gramm lead Foreigner.

Gump will deny this until she's blue in the face (which I picture somehow she always is), just as she did when NoMoreTails called it a few days back, but it's true.

LifetimeTV:
Plenty of posters have seen you bash Augeri (fine in and of itself) only to now flop on that all for the need to villainize Schon/Cain for the hands in JSS-fronted Journey fiasco. Multiple posters have also mentioned as much.
You're either lying or forget doing it, just like you mentally erased your pm to me challenging me to meet in person for a throwdown b/c I made a loon joke to you. You will deny this, while at the same time betraying the lie by admitting this whole time you've been on the gaybash kick with Matthew that you've actually been pming him behind the scenes, thereby affirming my statement of fact on that bizzare, "wanna make something of it, tough guy?" barchick behavior.
Here are a few big hits of yours I found, exhibiting your admiration of Augeri, undying allegiance to the JSS era and your deseting of Neal:
"All the poor Auggie fans are doing xtra jiggling in anticipation thinking their boyo is gonna return (& play more tapes 4 them???). Actually I feel sorry for them. I really do. They keep thinking their 5* ticket packages - of which they bought 5 & 6 - are gonna mean their boy will be up there soon. Shit seeing as they bought all these 5* packages & paid ALL that money you'd think the least the band can do is let them know. Oh w8 I got it. The band prolly thinks as soon as they see JSS shake it they'll transfer their jiggly adulation to him. Oooookkkk then. It's only a matter of time b4 they're all fantasizing about JSS don't u think? They gotta fantasize about someone."
"Can we talk about Steve Perry in very tight pants? If so, I'm in. We can also talk about Neal in very tight pants if you'd like tho. As long as it's hot men in tight pants, I'm good."
"Can someone please send this to Neal? Neal ... bring back Mr. Perry, let him be in charge. So fucking what? Where have u gone w/out him? Nowhere. U need him, admit it. And if u do, I'll gladly put up my ass for some spanking!"
" I rang up an ol' friend and played some for her just now. She saw the band recently w/JSS and did NOT like it. She was calling them JourneySirkUS. After a drink or 2 she abbreviated it to JourkUS tonite (pronounced "jerkus") & we laughed & laughed. We also sighed. Ah them good ol' days when rock was gr8. TY for the memories. I need moh, much moh!"

It's easy to say Cronin's lost it as he's an easy target. You're correct as far as the question of the topic goes but his voice still belts out those tunes and it ain't helped in anyway.
I take it all these opinions are first hand from recent concerts as nothin' recorded can be proof of how their voices are today. I don't think Perry should be mentioned on this thread!

JourkUS

That's pretty funny. Can I use that? Oh wait, not necessary anymore.

In an interview on GMA with him and his wife, right after the surgery and before the birth of their twins, they were discussing the tumour.
It was very large and pushed against the frontal lobe right above the sinus cavities.
when the tumour was removed, it left a space withing the cranium - so it became an echo chamber in his skull. Both Gramm and Jones thought it gave his voice a nice "resonance"

That's kinda how I read it Joe. Sounded more like someone who wished to disrobe him rather than dislike him.

Funny you would mention that.
Ive told them both few times before, that the reason they get into so many heated discussion so often could only be explained with one simple word: LOVE!
When will you two realize that the reason you both get so worked up about eachothers opinions is caused by the passion, only brought to you by a naked midget running aorund with a bow and arrow?(Yes Cupid)
I think its about time we create a thread, where anytime the 2 of you start getting into heated discussions, you should continue your discussion in the Joeusie thread!:)
