I say most definitely yes. Not that I give a shit mind you, but if they were to somehow hire this man, and assuming they had a singer worth a shit, they could possibly be relevant again. Read the page before you blow off my post, assroaches.

PS- Stole this page from Fernando Ramirez...remember that dude? He has a kick ass band and he used to come here often. Good dude.

According to the site Mutt is a master of Pro Tools. Yup. Just the man JOURNEY needs!

While Lange has an impressive portofolio and Journey would be a nice addition,I doubt he would want to work with the band at this point.Too many stains on the Scarab as of late.
A producer of his caliber looks into a band/project very carefully before consider it.
Just my 2 cents.

I've been a fan of his for many years. The guy knows his craft. I doubt very seriously that NS and JC would relinquish the control he typically needs/wants.

Mutt is a helluva taskmaster.... but he's also TALL.. so he could prolly bully Neal and Jon into doing what is necessary...

LOL, you are so fucking blind and clueless. Hell, there is rumour flting that Kevin has been shown the door as well. Not saying it's true, but it sure is loud.
Elson is a pea compared to the pod that is Mutt.

I'm familiar with the Elson gone rumor, just as I'm familiar with the conventional wisdom that the window is shut for Journey/JSS.
I'm also familiar w/ the fact that I remain hopeful on both fronts.

I dunno Deano. He made BAdams sound like Def Leppard on Waking Up the Neighbors. I didn't dig that at all (good songs, just too leppardy in the production). Still, it would be interesting. I wish Bruce Fairburn was still around. THAT would rock.

Well, all I can say is you aren't the brightest bulb in the chandelier. You remain hopeful? I remain hopeful of seeing Elvis tonight at my local Hooters, hopeful of Shania Twain calling me up and taking me to her hotel, hopeful of a brain transplant for W, and hopeful for a pot of fucking gold to drop down into my house this evening.
You be not too bright dude.

What if they brought Steve Augeri back but with Mutt producing???

Lange would've been an awesome producer for a Journey record with JSS.
On top of having a really great sound, Lange was essential in taking the songwriting of AC/DC and Def Leppard and shaping it to become Back In Black and Pyromania/Hysteria, albums that far transcended each band's already established audience.
What amazed me about those Lange-produced records is that he was able to take two basically cult bands, and get them to make albums everyone liked without making either band suck. No mean feat as a producer.
I imagine he could've done wonders with material Neal and JSS would've come up with...too bad we'll never know.

Mutt is a good producer, and he's the bigger name over Elson, but Elson is the better producer!

No.
There is no answer for Journey any longer.
The only way to bring back any credibility would be to record with Perry and tour with someone else, and for Perry and the band to admit that Perry can't tour. If that doesn't happen, all that is left is to tour with someone else, and that doesn't bring back any credibility among the fans...no matter who is singing.
Unless you are saying you are about to start a "Journey appreciation" website. For some reason I doubt that is happening any time soon.

Several posters over the years, me included, on all the different websites, have said that Mutt Lange could be exactly what Journey needs. I also added that along with a NEW Journey album, the band's lead singer needs to have a duet with a major female voice, maybe Shania, just to get the back on the charts (any chart), to draw more popular interest back toward the band. Even if only on a motion picture soundtrack, the duet could garner major attention, hence, Journey could be back in the limelight.
Now then, I base this simply off of what he once did for Def Leppard, and that his wife is Shania Twain. However, a BIG TIME producer with label in-roads does have a major affect.
Nothing against Elson, Shirley, or Mike Stone (where is he?), or anyone else.
later~

Yeah, a few of us thought the exact same thing you had just typed out, and they could have done that with Soto as vocalist, but that idea/vehicle has been shitcanned huh?

First and foremost, Journey (what is left of it) have to truly desire greatness again before anything ever happens again. I mean "truly" desire! Without that desire, it's over for good. I think they've demonstrated that they have lost that "desire" by letting Jeff go and setting their goal to being a Journey/Perry/tribute band. There are plenty of those already, are there not?

It's interesting how all you ever do is insult those who don't agree with every stupid thing you say. That of course is because you are not capable of having an intelligent conversation. How old are you??? From what I've read you must be at least in your late 30's if not older, yet you are the single most immature person to ever post on this site, maybe even the entire internet, and that's scary!
Kevin Elson is a better producer than Mutt, it may not be a big difference, but Elson is a little better.

Because the owner of the site doesn't have the guts to ban him! Also I think there's definitely some partnership between them with the whole tapegate bullshit?

Elson may be a good producer... but producers are hired to do one thing... make the artist produce a hit album... so the the real litmus test is album sales.... and unfortunately the numbers do not agree with your opinion. Here's the lists of Elson and Lange's albums produced:
Kevin Elson
* Big Bigger Biggest: Greatest Hits - Mr. Big (1996)
* Big Life - Night Ranger (1987)
* Bump Ahead - Mr. Big (1993)
* Burning - Shooting Star (1983)
* Captured - Journey (1981)
* Departure - Journey (1980)
* Dream After Dream - Journey (1980)
* Escape - Journey (1981)
* Frontiers - Journey (1983)
* Generations - Journey (2005)
* Greatest Hits - Journey (1988)
* Hey Man - Mr. Big (1996)
* III Wishes - Shooting Star (1982)
* Lean into It - Mr. Big (1991)
* Live at Budokan - Mr. Big (1997)
* Loud & Clear - Signal (1989)
* Mr. Big - Mr. Big (1989)
* Push - Virginia Wolf (1987)
* Raw Like Sushi - Mr. Big (1990)
* Round Two - Johnny Van Zant Band (1981)
* Sons of Angels - Sons of Angels (1990)
* Start from the Dark - Europe (2004)
* Strangeways - Strangeways (1986)
* Street Survivors - Lynyrd Skynyrd (1977)
* Sucker for a Pretty Face - Eric Martin Band (1983)
* The Final Countdown - Europe (1986)
* Time3 - Journey (1992)
Between Journey and the rest maybe 90 Million?
John Mutt Lange

* City Boy – Young Men Gone West, 1977
* Clover – Love On The Wire, 1977
* Clover – Unavailable, 1977

* Shania Twain – The Woman in Me, 1995
* Shania Twain – Up!, 2002
* Stevie Vann – Stevie Vann, 1995
* Supercharge – Body Rhythm, 1979
* Supercharge – Horizontal Refreshment, 1977
* Supercharge – Local Lads Make Good, 1976

* The Corrs – In Blue, 2000

Mutt is responsible for over 150 million unit sales.... Back in Black alone is at 42 million... Shania's catalog is over 50 million now....
Elson may be good... but Mutt brings home the bacon... and THAT is a producers job.
