Send out a "smoke signal" or something....GOD....

Postby TRAGChick » Fri Aug 10, 2007 8:32 am

I dunno, people..... :? :x

Maybe it's because I'm getting older; turning 40.... ACK... and getting tired of waiting for the "Superstar" Steve....

But being "hung out to dry" ~ with no word about ANYthing ~ is REALLY starting to piss me off! (and probably others, too...)

Good Lord...

If you're DONE....just give us some fucking courtesy...

Unfortunately, this band has always left the fans in the dark.

I don't expect to hear anything until several months into 2008.

Ummmmmmmmmm......I think she was talking about Steve Perry. The word "superstar" no longer applies to the dudes masquerading around as Journey.

Wouldn't mind an update. We've heard from others he's been busy. If you could interview him with ONE question only...what would it be?

YEOWITCH!!!

But yeah; you got the general idea....

Going to see The Police is what got me on this "tirade"....WTF....they're all right around HIS AGE, y'know....?

And ironically enough....in 82-83 ~ right around the time of "Synchronicity" ~ of course I knew of the album; who they were, etc...

...but never gave them another thought....because I was all about Journey and "Frontiers"...right?

Not to side-track this thread, but....as I type, Mark is practicing drums to "Snakes & Arrows"....which is ~ OH YEAH ~ Rush's NEW CD!!

So.....again.....WTF???!!

Sigh... Deano, Deano, Deano. Chill. He's not in Journey anymore. He's not touring anymore. But that doesn't mean he's retired.

If Perry wants to stay retired and do an occasional backing vocal, that's fine with me. If he wants to keep things to himself and not let on what he's going to do or not going to do, that's his prerogative. He doesn't have to tell the fans anything or do music ever again if he doesn't want to.

Heck, the way some of his fans act, I would probably want to keep a low profile also.

Well, hey.....I don't mean to "categorize" myself into your last comment.

But at the same time:

He keeps going "back & forth" about stuff....we all KNOW his voice is deeper and more soulful....hell, the standard HE HIMSELF set back in the day, most Singers TODAY cannot do...

...which is what I take as a MAJOR KUDOS 8)

Yeah; don't get me wrong....his June "FanAsylum" notice was cool....

....but - he's supposed to be working with Nuno, right?

What about that??

Maybe Nuno can sample his voice and play it through his effects rack, in essence making it sound like Steve Perry is singing while he's playing. How's that?

Oh. My. Gaawd. This again? Seriously, again? I love you people, you all crack me up daily, but aarrrrgh!
I'm almost ready to hunt the man down myself, grab him by his hair, and violently shake SOME kind of explanation out of him just so this very old discussion can come to an end already. *smacks forehead* Actually... no, strike that. I think I'll just sit back and be one of the last few folks who wants to leave his allegedly retired ass alone.

Steve Perry passed away 5 years ago. He's gone from a stinky rotting corpse to bones and dust. The guy that went to White Sox games and did that brutal karoake is an imposter named Bill Finegold. Can't believe you loons couldn't tell the difference.

He may be retired. Only he knows. Since he is worth 50- 100 mil he can do what he wants. We all know that he wants quality and if he can't , he won't.

My bad, although I didn't realize we were waiting on an announcement about anything from Perry, how many times and how many ways does the guy have to say he is retired?

I think once would do it.

But he absolutely refuses to. It's always some cryptic bet hedge that stops short of committment one way or other, I think that's Nora's point.

True, He never says flat out that he is done, but one can certainly read between the lines.

He may be leaving it open as an option, but he has been away for a long time now and he ain't getting any younger!

The only problem with reading between the lines is that it's assuming based on limited facts or innuendo, therefore, ultimately fallable.

Which is why, I think, Nora posted what she did. Just word from HIS mouth as to what's up. He's done some interviews, but all limited in scope to the Sopranos ending and his absolute NO WAY I'M GOING BACK TO JOURNEY thing. There's a boatload of 'rumors', it would just be cool to hear something from him, that's all. There's more to Perry than Journey.

Limit the bashing to Schon/Cain/Augeri right?
