I was thirteen years old when the 80s kicked in and by '82 i dearly wished i lived in the USA.
Then i would be able to see videos and concerts of the people i grew up liking, who barely got a mention over here. I was influenced by
Journey (of course)
Rick Springfield
Van Halen
Loverboy (i know......)
Toto
Kiss
Hall & Oates
Stevie Nicks
Foreigner
Night Ranger
Styx
Quiet Riot
Blue Oyster Cult
I was very jealous of the opportunities to live in that culture and would imagine that when MTV kicked in and AOR and Rock were the press darlings, it must have been a great time to be a "Young American"........lucky sods.....

I felt exactly the same way about the lucky Brits at the time of the Beatles, Stones, Chad & Jeremy, Peter & Gordon, etc., Gordon!

Hi Kim, - you may be giving away a lot about your age there.....or do you just wish you lived in that era?

LOL ~ Nope, I just wish I'd lived in that era. What a wonderful time to live in a place that's always fascinated me. I'll admit to "Rick Springfield" though.

Damn, I thought he was hot back in the day!
How's it going?

Great! I just got a job as guitarist in a band that are gigging and i might even get them to do DSB with me singing....we just did an office party gig and it was great fun. I'm coming to Vegas on September 18th so i'm hoping some decent band may be in town to go see- but if not i will just blow my cash and do the tourist thing. I enjoy posting here - but i am still finding it a bit hard to listen to Journey just now - so Street Talk and FLOTSM are getting played a lot!
How you doing?

Oh, that was me in the '60s. I decided then that I must have been born on the wrong side of the pond, and frankly I haven't changed my mind about that.

Gordon- I loved Peter & Gordon, thought the Beatles changed music FOREVER, and wish to this day that I got to see Queen. I have seen Elton 2x .I even liked some Led Zep. I thought many though copied the Beatles like the DaveClark5.
