the first time I saw Evolution live I was freaked out by Hugo, but after getting all his solo work I can completely look past the uncanny resemblence and enjoy how talented he is. Looking forward to the Canal Room show next month :)

Wow. Its a shame you guys never make it out west. I think you could fill some pretty big clubs in California.

While Hugo is a great original vocalist, this clip solidifies any questions about him being capable of singing Journey's catalog at this point in his career. While the sound was great, the musicians top notch, Hugo was barely audible and nowhere near the vocal strength of Steve Perry.....in all fairness, not many people are. Pretty good rendition nonetheless.

I can live with him doing it.

I have to disagree with you, if you know anything about news broacast studios, it is not equipt for live music, with that said I thought it sounded great.

Hugo's had a great career and has a lot of miles on his voice. That said, he just doesn't have any power in his voice on any clips, not just this one. These songs were never in his range. He should stick to his original music to preserve his voice and ensure that he can sing for years to come. I'm sure the Journey catalog has taken enough of a toll already.

Ditto.

I like Hugo as a solo performer, he doesn't do it for me as the singer for Journey.

If anyone can watch this and honestly say that Hugo sounds just like perry, or should be the singer for Journey, or even that he doesn't have a weak voice... I guess i will never understand...
