And after screaming for 4 days, he can still sound this good (listen to his vocal tone on the last word "people". I don't doubt for a second that with a little work and warmup he could still bring it. Maybe not his Infinity era vocals, but hey probably better than 3/4 of whats out there today.

I would bet anything he absolutely can still sing. Nobody's voice at his age is exactly the same as it was 25 years ago.

So what? He might have to duck a few of the highest notes, or maybe tune some of the songs down....and you know what.......

He'll still sound like Steve Perry.

Hey, Robert Plant's voice is a mere shadow of what it once was, but when he opens his mouth to sing, you still know it's Robert Plant. I'd bet that Perry has a lot more oomph left in his voice than some might think.

Thanks for posting that. H can still sing like ROR days. '08 is the most likely year.

I'm not saying he sounded crappy, but who wouldn't sound crappy after screaming for 4 days? Or being 25+ years older? I still say that his worst day is probably better than most do on their best day.

Not I, thats for sure. Who needs the "Strat Highs" when you have vocals like this.......daaaaaamn!

I actually prefer this grittier more soulful tone, but then quite a few of my fave vocalists have it too..........JSS, Eric Martin, Jeff Keith - Tesla (ok he's got a lot of grit  ).

i watched that clip of him here recently.steve is a hard person to figure out sometimes.he'll drop hints that will make you think one thing and then he goes and does something else.almost like a tease type of thing.i'm pretty sure to a degree he does miss the excitement.i think there are reasons other than financial that he doesn't come back........

however if he did come back i would be one of the first in line to get a ticket.journey and a reunited guns n roses would be the only concerts i'll ever go to again.maybe zeppelin but that ain't happening.
