Have you heard this song that didnt make it onto FLOTSM? Its brilliant - i never understand why songs that are not deemed good enough to make it onto an album usually turn out to be very popular with the fans........

You can thank the suits at the record companies for that mentality. They haven't clue one as to what the fans want. They go by law of averages and safe choices to secure a safe return on their investment. As far as they're concerned, Steve Perry's biggest hits have been ballads, so from him, they want to see an album filled with ballads.
Let Go would have been a good addition to that album.

Holy freaking cow! Did you hear the high notes at the end? Damn! It's amazing to me that all this wonderful material never saw the light of day because the "suits" didn't like it.
Thanks for sharing!

Similar call was made on - 'I can see it in your Eyes'
This sounds 'Against the Wall Era'. I think I am hearing 'Michael Landau' on Guitar. Sounds like a decent track, never heard before.

Maybe it was Perry's decision? It seems that he was given a lot of control re: the recent reissues and if he'd reallly wanted this included as one of the unreleased bonus tracks then I can't see that the record company would stand in his way. In 1994 maybe...but not now.

Always liked that one! Was hoping it was going to make it on to the remastered FTLSM as one of the bonus tracks.

Perry was on record about his disagreements with the record label over the final tracks on FTLOSM. As a compromise, they released two maxi single CD's of 'you better wait' and 'missing you'. On those singles, they included a number of Perry's choice tracks which included , 'what was', 'melody', 'it won't be you', 'forever right or wrong', 'one more time' and the remake of 'if you need me call me' (among others).
They didn't print many of those maxi singles and they're hard to find. Don't know if the label let Perry have his way on the singles or not, but those tracks were not found on the original album. Some of the same songs found their way to Perry's greatest hits CD later on. Note that Let Go wasn't part of any release anywhere.
Perry himself probably wasn't fond of the song. He never released the first collaboration with Nuno Bettencourt either.
