Is there anything Journey could do to win you back?

In light of all the recent shit (once again brought about by the way Journey divides its fans), this question goes to all of you who feel completely done with this band.

Is there anything at all Journey could do at this point that would make you care again? For example, I'm sure I'll see another version of Jounrey, I'll buy the album to see what it sounds like, but I have a hard time seeing myself really caring about Journey again. To me, the JSS firing was the last straw. JSS made me care about Journey again then he got shit-canned and it was the same old thing again.

I think if the got JSS back, I might care again. If they got Steve Perry back I might care again. Other than that, I'm probably gone.

I think we would be interested if an amazing singer came on the scene. Andrew has already said it wont be a well known name- pity i woulda liked to have seen Joe Lynn Turner get the job........that woulda got me very interested.

If that were true then Soul Sirkus would have gone over like gangbusters. Unless you were referring to Perry.

Most of the time, it's the singer AND the song.

Anyone that went to a concert after Tapegate and supported the band after that really shouldn't have a problem supporting a new lineup if it's pleasing to their ears vocally. After all, Tapegate was exponentially worse than releasing Jeff. They chose to move on without him. That's what corporations do. You're just an employee to them. All of the other personal shit and friendship issues is between them and Jeff. If I like what I hear I'll continue to go. If not, I won't. The fallout over Jeff was because he developed personal relationships with a lot of fans. Personally, I found his incarnation no more endearing than the prior. They were both good, but nothing that knocked my socks off. I respect Jeff and the way he chooses to treat his fans and will continue to support anything he may do in the future. As far as the members of Journey go, I feel the same way about them now as I did 9 years ago. I don't think much of them.

2 things need to happen for me:

PERRY

and

HERBERT

The above two people need to be involved with Journey for me to even remotely give a shit again....and we all know the likelihood of Perry getting involved again is so slim, I'd stand a better chance at putting money down on the Chicago Cubs to win the world series...

Combine that with the likelihood that Herbert would reinvolve himself, with Perry also in the mix....and the chance is so miniscule, that we'd stand a better chance at our sun going supernova in the next ten minutes.......

Technically our sun would never supernova. It is a yellow dwarf star. When it goes it will merely turn into a red giant and shrink into a white dwarf wih a minor nebula. Oh, and JSS rocks.

This scenario would be a dream come true. I just wish all parties...Perry, Schon, Friga and Herbert would stop for a minute and realize that somewhere between tomorrow and 25 years from now they're all gonna be in a pine box 6 feet under and none of this trivial bullshit they're fighting over and not speaking to each other for is going to matter. Nor will "legacies" or anything else they're worried about. It's funny how the fans keep buying up the same repackaged shit time and again, but they can't get together and give us what EVERYONE wants....a FINAL tour. And because of silly fucking gag orders, we don't even know why. Suppressing the truth from your fans probably isn't a good thing. Yet I'm fairly certain that if they released 10 never heard before tracks with Perry from the Escape era I'd be the first asshole in line to buy them. I'm starting to think that we're the dumbfucks, not them. :?

Higgy...Thanks Man! I actually was going to clarify that our sun would never supernova....however, I didn't remember the exact chronology of what happened to our sun after becoming a red giant.....so I didn't want to sound off on something I wasn't knowlegable about....regardless, it's good to hear from someone that knows what they're talking about! ;)

Well for starters they can refund all the money I spent at lip synced concerts. I could have gooten the same sound by slapping a cd into my walkman and saved a shitload of cash. Fuckers!

Nope, there isn't anything Journey can do to win me back. Perry and JSS won't touch that trainwreck again.

CRL- I know you are most likely correct, but Perry or Jeff are the only ones Iwould pay to see. If you heard the 9-7 interview in Ireland, I think Perry thinks today as he did in '98.

I would still have my doubts putting up any money if Perry or JSS returned. I know the same shit will be done to them once again, if they did bail Journey out of this mess, and that isn't what I want to see. I just want to see this trainwreck retired.

Technically they only owe you 1/5th of your money back.

I believe that there will not be a new album. They will just tour to death the Greatest Hits.

As salle so eloquently stated if they wanted to make new music Jeff was the man to go with. But they are saying to most of us who follow them closely they have no interest in writing new music and making their retirement of the fools who go to listen to the greatest hits ( dirty dozen ) tour for however much longer people will pay to listen to that IF i wanted that I could listen to my ipod all day long

Only way I will come back is if Steve returns. I know that is not going to happen so they need to retire.

I LOVE Jeffrey, but if I can somehow forgive Journey, and try to understand why they do what they do, can't you all?

This is an awfully good band you know. However, make NO mistake, I LOVE JSS the person and will side with him, no matter what. I did name my son after him you know.

All I am saying folks is this:

We can all love Jeff, and NOT forget that...however, Neal is the best fucking axeman in the world.....Let's not be stupid and make fun of his height.
