This track was a bonus track on the U.S. release of Halford's "Crucible" album. It's my favorite tune from that album and a great vocal by Rob.

"She"

She's the one who fills my soul
With grace and dignity so rare
A jewel that shines upon her child
And lifts me to a higher place, a higher place

She sang to me before I breathed
Alive inside, she gave me life

I felt her heartbeat as it's touching mine
The rhythm stays and never leaves
She smiles and warms the coldest of the days
Her soft caress brings peace and hope

And when I'm gone she's always there
To carry me through troubled times
She held me to her simple truth
That all I need is what she gives

In dreamland where the child still lives
Forever pure in arms of love
In dreamland where the child still lives
Forever pure in arms of love

This virtue leaves tranquility
As ever radiant it's always light
Her laughter drifts across a thousand miles
And takes me back to innocence

Another "She"

Elvis Costello

SHE

She may be the face I can't forget
The trace of pleasure or regret
Maybe my treasure or the prize I have to pay
She may be the song that summer sings
Maybe the children autumn brings
Maybe a hundred different things
Within the measure of a day

She may be the beauty or the beast
Maybe the famine or the feast
May turn each day into a Heaven or a Hell
She may be the mirror of my dreams
A smile reflected in a stream
She may not be what she may seem
Inside her shell....

She, who always seems so happy in a crowd
Whose eyes can be so private and so proud
No one's allowed to see them when they cry
She maybe the love that cannot hope to last
May come to leap from shadows in the past
That I remember 'till the day I die

She maybe the reason I survive
The why and wherefore kind of life
The one I care for through the rough and ready years

Me, I'll take the laughter and your tears
And make them all my souvenirs
And when she goes I've got to be
The meaning of my life is
She....She
Oh, she....

midnite special

She walks by moonlight
No one really knows
Enchanted starlight
Never goin home
I know shes goin down, goin
Everybody knows shes so good

Doin well for others
She doesnt really know
The powers are within her
As she takes off her clothes

I know shes goin down, goin
Everybody knows shes so good

Doin well for others
She doesnt really know
The powers are within her
As she takes off her clothes

I know shes goin down, goin
Everybody knows shes so good

SHE

Lay a hand
Upon the water
Well within, well within

Wash away
To fair tomorrow
Ride ahead, ride ahead

Make your mark
Upon the rock
For another one

Ashes tell tales
Fire gives faith
Burn it up, burn it up
Burn it up, burn it up

She would waste not, not in struggle
No other shall there ever be
And what she is to love, listen oh my brother
Is as the wind to mercury

Don't you pray
Of a heartless town
Or you'll be forced to flee

Don't you live
In a soulless city
Or you'll have to leave

You don't need
No place of birth
Hither to come home

Many a night
Were you ready for your bed
But your bed not ready for you

She would give of herself
And ask not return or eternity
And what she'd offer, listen oh my brother
Is as the wind to mercury

And she'd hold not of another man
No other shall there ever be
And whom she would hold
Listen, oh my brother
Is as the wind to mercury

Love Halford but didn't like 'She' too much as a track on the mostly superb Crucible album. File it along with 'Angel' from Judas Priest's recent Angel of Retribution or 'In the Morning' (also from Crucible).

Heres another 'She'

Misfits - She

She walked out with empty arms
Machine gun in her hand
She is good and she is bad
No one understands

She walked in in silence
Never spoke a word
She's got a rich daddy
She's her daddy's girl

She loves naked sin
He loves evil sex
She has lost control
They are growing old

She will hide in silence
Then her day will come
She was virgin vixen
She is on the run
She is on the run
She is on the run

As you are obviously a man of great musical taste perhaps you would enjoy the forthcoming Primal Fear album New Religion? Singer Ralf Scheepers has always been compared favorably to Halford but on this record sounds absolutely incredible, raising his own game to become a dead ringer for Resurrection era Rob. This is evident throughout but particularly on the solo Halford sounding opener 'Sign of Fear', 'Face the Emptiness' and 'Fighting the Darkness'.

Anyhoo -

Heres She (from the original release of Halford's Crucible - the remaster which I have somewhere is 10 times better)!

and just for kicks Primal Fear's magnificent Fighting the Darkness -

As always I am buying Primal Fear's 'New Religion' on launch September 21st 2007, awesome band!
