Hey,
Gregg Rolie's site has a link to a new band called Tritium. The myspace page for the band has the songs from the upcoming album (to be released on iTunes). Didn't sound at all like what we know Gregg's music to sound like, so I emailed him for some info on his involvement with the project. I also asked him about Roots on iTunes. Below is his response:

"Tritium is my sons band and he’s the guitarist/singer in the band. The album was delayed in being released and I’m not sure when they will get it out. Roots is not on iTunes as I don’t have any contract with them as of yet. Thanks for the email.... Adios, Gregg

I really enjoyed Abraxas Pool and the samples I've heard from Roots have the same feel. I'm just spoiled by the instant download process. Hate waiting for CD's. Anyone have his roots album?

I exchanged emails with Gregg some time back. He's very approachable. I wonder if he liked how A.Keys covered his Black Magic Women with Santana. She didn't even come close. That's Greggs song. More his than Santana's, imo.

No surprise there. If someone sings a song, they own it as far as you're concerned.

What would he say about another Storm album? There's a noticeable void right now on all things Journey.

He has said "that music" is "not where he's at now".

...and (people often forget) more Peter Green's than either Gregg's OR Santana's.
