First thing you want to do is to open up an account at photobucket (or a similar file hosting site,) upload the avatar you'd like to use to that site, then go to your profile settings, and paste the URL of the uploaded picture (you get that from the host site of the picture,) and there ya go!

Actually Greg, I've never signed up with any file hosting site. I just find a picture through Google, and right click. Click "Save picture as" and save the file into a file on my computer. I then just go into the profile page, and click "Browse pictures" and post the picture I want as my avatar. I haven't done it in quite a while, but that's pretty close as I recall! If you still can't figure it out, just PM me and I'll walk you through it.

Personally, I thought it looked like Tigger on a 3 day crack binge, but your description is much funnier.
