Does anyone have the studio version of Ridin' The Storm Out from the album of the same name? I can't find it anywhere and I don't want to buy an entire album for just one song.

-Thanks

No he doesn’t; the lead singer’s name is Mike Murphy.

I have an Mp3 of the song ripped from vinyl record (medium quality) but I’m not sure it’s allowed to share, if it is I’ll certainly do it.

That is a tough one. I think I've only heard it once or twice. The live version was on the radio a lot back in the day.

You could upload the file to a site like MegaUpload and then post the link to it on here.

I think Drew frowns upon anything but boots being posted, Nikki. PMs are OK.

Didn't know that files from MegaUpload weren't permitted. I've seen at least a dozen links for different files on this board, so I assumed that doing it that way was okay. In that case, the forums on Guitars 101 are loaded with live boots from all sorts of bands. They don't permit studio versions, though

I mean licensed music, like songs ripped from studio albums. That could get Drew in trouble. Live boots are ok. Doesn't matter what site you use to post them.

Most of the time, I'd rather listen to studio music than live music..

..but "Ridin' The Storm Out" is one of those few songs that are FAR superior to the studio version, in my opinion.

To clarify, I'm looking for the version of Ridin' The Storm Out that was on the 1973 album of the same name. The singer of the band at the time was Mike Murphy and I'm not looking for the live version that Kevin Cronin sang.

Try downloading from LimeWire, if it's there. At least it would be free.

If it's not there, get it from iTunes where it's only 99 cents.

Doing a lot better, thanks. Out of school and working. My one kidney will hurt every now and then and give me a scare when it does that. Makes me think I am getting another stone. But I have been working so much, my time on site here is down to next to nothing. Still have to check in daily, but don't say as much as I use too. -ERIC

Sorry to hear about your kidney stone. I passed one yesterday and have another waiting to be birthed. They are a killer. I have passed more than 40 stones over the past dozen years. My friends call me the quarry. :?

How many other bands had a lead singer change where the lead singer became the face of the band that most fans recognize, but couldnt tell you anyone else in the band's name? REO with Cronin, Journey with Perry. Any others?

Chuck Norris has had an infinite number of kidney stones, the most famous of which is named Earth.

I went to the hospital for an upper GI, and they had me drink this white chalky shit, and took X-rays every 20 minutes. While I waited between X-rays, there was always this woman down the hall just moaning and groaning. I felt bad for the lady, it was obvious that she was in some incredible pain. Finally I asked a nurse what she was in that much pain from, and she said "A kidney stone."

So with that, I certainly offer my condolences for anyone that has to suffer like that. It must be awful.

Listen to REO's latest effort. It is as painful as an assraping.
